  1. I had a similar problem which was due the format my phone was saving the photos in. My phone had switched without my knowledge from JPEG to HEIC format. Apparently the HEIC format uses less memory space but the problem is the CT website and lots of other sites don’t recognise HEIC and won’t let you upload them. There are free converters available to convert them back but it’s time consuming. I have now switched my phone back to JPEG.
  2. Sorry everyone I who has commented. I moved house yesterday and have not stopped. Plus a poor phone signal and have literally just got the broadband up and running to find these messages. Yes please Dave if you could collect the drive shafts and pass them on to Darren and then Darren could drop them at Pete’s that would be fantastic. Thanks Mark
  3. Thanks for the info Clive all updated. Mark
  4. Can someone advise me how to change my home address. I have looked at my account settings but can’t see anyway to update my home address. Thanks Mark
  5. I am in no rush as moving house this Thursday so very busy at the moment.
  6. Hi all. I have a couple of drive shafts to pickup from Dave Harvey in Darby and bring over to Newmarket/Ely area but anywhere Cambs, Suffolk or even south Lincolnshire would do if anyone is coming this way. Thanks Mark.
  7. I spotted you driving out of Wicken.
  8. Mk 4 / 1500 Steel boot lid in very good condition no rust just a couple of areas on the edge where the paint has rubbed off while in storage. £270 collection from CB7 or Stoneleigh spares day next Sunday. Message me if intrested. Thanks Mark
  9. Just to say a big thanks to Colin and Mike for organising this year's Essex Winter rally. An enjoyable day out dispite having to get up at 6am on a Sunday and winning is always a bonus.
  10. My in-car sat nav uses TomTom and I have to say the speed camera information is excellent. It even warns with pin point accuracy the location of the mobile speed cameras.
  11. When applying for the license make sure you use a different email address for each of you as there system doesn’t like two or more licenses with the same email address. Just to add it’s an electronic license that is emailed to you.
  12. Help needed. Pete has entered as our driver but when I try to purchase the navigator. I click on the navigator option it takes me to a second page then nothing happens. What am I doing wrong. Thanks in advance Mark
  13. This weekends job is fitting this NOS Jaguar E-type Kenlowe fan to the MK1 saloon.
  14. Fair enough it was only what I was told by another TSSC member.
  15. At the risk of committing heresy and promoting a rival club It might be worth you talking to Pete James insurance. He is offering some very good deals to members of TSSC at the moment. I saved £45 by off my premium by using my TSSC membership instead of my CT membership. I also got my wife put back on at no extra cost despite an own fault accident last year. I am sure someone said he is offering preferential rates to younger drivers especially if a parent is the lead driver on the policy.
  16. I have to agree that the not having DRLs has started making me feel a bit vulnerable. In my opinion other drivers become so accustomed to to DLRs they stopping looking for cars and just look for lights. If they see no lights they see no car. My new Citroen are has rear DRLs as well as front like the old Volvos and Saabs.
  17. I never said I don’t stick to 30s in fact I am very diligent at sticking to 30s ask my wife, as to say because you don’t like my driving style I have the wrong car I is rather arrogant. I could throw the same comment back at you and say you should have a herald if all you want to do is tootle around.
  18. We obviously have very different driving styles, toodling around is something I most definitely do not do, the day I do start toodling around hopefully someone will shot me and put me out of my misery. 70 or faster is regularly archived not just on motorways, yes the wind can be a bit of a problem at higher speeds but that’s what ear plugs are for and over the summer I picked up a wind deflector for £25 which has transformed the Vitesse. As for extending the life of the gearbox, the joy of the Vitesse is its a sports car even if it doesn’t look like one, that’s why the Vitesse has a close ratio gearbox, hence it is driven like a sports car hard and when parts break they get repaired which is another joy in its self. When I drive I drive to have fun whether it’s in my classics or moderns not to relax.
  19. My Mk1 2L O/D Vitesse diff is getting to the point of needing to be replaced, it currently has a 3.89 diff which is correct for the car but I was thinking of putting in a 3.63 diff to give it longer legs on motorway driving but was wondering how much it would knock down performance. Looking at the MintyLamb web site at 70 mph a 3.63 would drop the Rpm by 221 which in my mind is not going to take to much off the performance. Has anyone got any thoughts or experience they can share. Mark
  20. Fitted Audi Mk1 TT seats to my Mk1 big saloon. A bargain at £80 for the pair and even got £1 cash back when I tipped the seat up side down

    Power upgrade

Are you suffering the diesel effect! I certainly suffered it when I started driving petrol cars again after many years of driving diesels, I was driving my Vitesse like a diesel changing gear to early and not Reving the engine hard enough. A point that was pointed out to me on a RBRR.
