Who knows Mark, anything is possible by the previous owner. Especially as it is a rally car! I will have to get him to look some more or plan a trip over to see him Cheers Shaun

Ha ha that's great John, I will send him that link so he can get a jar. Yes that was the kits he was looking at, and also on James paddocks site. He wants to service it fully so that it's correct when he sells it, (quite decent attitude) I told him where to look but he swears he can see nothing, (he is not a mechanic, but then he is also not completely stupid) perhaps I should get him to do it via video chat so I can see!
  6. Rob I do agree with you and John about having a sweeper car, in theory But in practice it would not work 100%, what if you have a team that have strayed off track and are making their way back via different roads than the recognised route, (or worse case broken down on some out of the way road) the sweepers can't cover all the roads. But like you say there are contact numbers (if you have signal of course) We had it a few times in 2014 where we was late for a control, most were still there waiting for a while,  one had shut up shop and gone, (no fault of theirs) so we continued anyway, then we heard rumour via another team who called me, that  'the renown is out of the run' (not so of course) So if the marshal for that point or any heard that rumour, then they would not bother waiting any longer than needed if we was the last car or not. Like John said, with modern technology now, we can just take a picture of that check point to prove you was there.
  7. Stove paint! I used some on an exhaust manifold, it was good stuff. (Will have a look at the make on the tin)
  8. Second that about the beer! There is a B&B just down our street, (will have to check how many rooms they have) then we can have a BBQ and some beers/laughs the night before (plus any last minute car checks!
  9. Will they be available at stonleigh? (If any left)

My friend has a mk1 gt6 that he is preparing to sell and wants to give it a full service first. He asked me what parts to order so I had a look and there are two types of service kits available. One kit Up to engine number KC7905 The other From engine number KC7906 I said he needs to let me know what his engine number is, he can not find it (either he is not looking well enough or it is missing? I don't have the time for a while to go over and have a look myself So how else can you identify what service kit to buy? Thanks in advance Regards Shaun
  11. Marcus has a nice green shagging pile in his gt6! (Actually looks very good) ???? If you get the chance (perhaps you have already been) but the triumph spares day, stonleigh in February is a good event to go to for parts, meeting up with others, and looking at owners/members cars.
  12. I have the same (sykes pickavant) stud extractor, and it often gets stuck on the stud like that. Knocking out the extension does nothing, the black bit is fixed into the chrome bit so that it swivels, so when you turn it onto the stud it grips and then you can remove the stud (unless it breaks) The way I free it off, is to put the stud in a vice, and turn the extractor the opposite direction to unlock it.
  13. We both have big gardens, just bring your tents! Although that time of year it should be nice weather, you can always sleep in the stables. Would be a great 'triumph' BBQ to set off a great atmosphere for the start. 😉
