  1. Thanks. Going to be next week I get some miles on it. failed to get a circlip on correctly on a uj and didn't notice. Well until it started going clonk clonk. At least I was only popping to the shops.
  2. Greetings. Ive a 1500 O/D gearbox that has just been installed into my spitfire and it's whining in 3rd and 4th. 1st and 2nd are fine. Gearbox was a reclaimed unit from the graveyard so history is unknown. Thought's on where to start? I'm trying to avoid pulling it out and swapping back to my known good non O/D unit as I'm running very late on RBRR prep (Only just got the car back on the road and need to run a freshly built engine in!)
  3. Just rebuilding the engine and sort the heating so that it can be adjusted between the on and off settings by means other than re-plumbing! Or and fit some speakers that are audible, some rear suspension that doesn't squeak, make the bonnet less rattly, fix the passenger window so it winds up as well as down and..........
  4. Thanks once again to Mike, Ellis and all those who helped make it happen. And to James for the joy of sharing his car for the weekend. We  nearly came unstuck due to my attempt to make midnight occur twice, once as 2400 and then an hour later as 0000 but in the end we surprised ourself's with a second win. The  drive home was a killer. (Nottingham via Northamptonshire)  but I think that almost anywhere is going to give some people a long drive  back. I think our event milage was about 720 with another 250 on top for getting there and back  (and another 140 for me to get to James and  back) and for the second year in a row the overdrive aquired an electrical fault on the way back. I'm not sure that the couple with the steamy windows were impressed with us rocking up to take photos of Berry Head lighthouse just before dawn. (whistle) Looking forward to next year already. Paul.
