Build it high enough so you don’t have to bend over it when working with it and make sure it’s under your lifting gear exactly right! Presuming yours is over head! If not make sur you have good clearance under the table so a crane leg can go under! Don’t forget to put a good strong vice on it.

3 months ago I decided to replace the brakes parts on the 13/60 so bought new shoes slaves well all the bits as it’s been standing for 50 years. Put all together bit of a struggle as you know I suffer the effects of a stroke. For some reason I was convinced they were both binding badly.Today I took Glangs advice from a previous post and read the Manual But I done everything correctly! So I went back out undid the two screws holding the drum on and it just came off! No binding! That’s when i realised that the non existent issue was everything was put together and connected……to the the Drive Shaft no wonder it didn’t move! After five minutes of expletives and throwing my screwdriver down the bottom of the garden I know have a new project, Finding the Screwdriver!…..So this applies to anyone who gets frustrated, Just Throw your tools into the toolbox it saves a lot of time!

In my opinion it’s not a matter of is it worth it but will you get enjoyment from doing the restoration then when it’s done the best bit Driving her knowing you saved her. Yes it will cost but life does and if you chose a life of restoration good for you and enjoy.

Thank you Glang you’re quite right, page 131 just the job. This is one of the problems I face doing the restoration as because of my Stroke I sometimes forget the simplest of answers to the problem. Onwards.

Please can anyone post a photo or description of the route that the rear pipe takes across the back of the axel area! As I have managed to file my original part in the Bin and cannot find my reference photo. Note to New Restorers “Clearly label your original parts and keep them safe!

Tyre levers defo! You need 3 to to get a tyre off, you use the knotch in the end to hook into the spoke on the wheel. Put 3levers 9” apart around the rim of the wheel ram them under the tyre lever the tyre and hook onto the spokes and bobs your uncle! You have trapped your fingers under the rim of the tyre or you have removed it!

I find the best way to deal with aging leaking Tools is not to Laugh! But it now now seems Screwfix is the answer!

This was given to me it’s a Herald 1200 high compression engine and chassis and running gear. It’s called a JCMidge. The engine runs very nicely just an issue with the clutch and the front brakes. Some of you are going to say ahhhh! It’s kit car not for us but I say it’s a Herald that’s had some re bodying issues! It’s not going to pass the DVLA Iva test as the chassis has been cut off at the front so won’t be used on the highway, I have been looking at the possibility of restyling the body to make mor likes 1937 Triumph Scorpion ! And use it as a show car if that doesn’t work then I could still use it as a spares for my 13/60 which would be a shame as a lot of effort has gone into getting it this far Which ever way it goes it beats sitting around doing nowt !

Hi all. At what point in a project/ restoration can you or should you ! Consider insuring the project as at some point there can be a few hundred pounds worth of parts sitting in our sheds garage driveways ?

I have some ipc slow burn fuse and a lighter plus some stuff! We could Blow the ruddy doors Off!

Having nothing better to do I started spotting Triumphs on The Telivisual device in the corner of the room ! So Tonight Friday 3 Feb BBC 1 Beyond Paradise episode 2 a Triumph maybe Toledo in a workshop garage colour yellow.Watching the Dectorists and one the main characters has a Yellow Tr 7. Emmerdale and Rhoana’s mum has a green Herald estate. Need some warm weather to get out and do some work on mine!
