  1. Yeah, right that's going to happen lol
  2. My 62 herald restoration project has its original hood with the cleaning/care instructions stamped into the back window, I'm hoping to save it, but if I can't I would be tempted to order a red one to match the matador red interior, factory black paint.
  3. MOE has to get a new rear hub and an oil leak investigated, going to Dave Harvey on Monday. The 12/50 is having a tidy up, surface rust tidied and and general clean GiGi my 62 herald Convertible is still in a 1000 pieces in darkest Warwickshire, nearly ready for paint.
  4. Thanks for the action shots of MOE my camera failed just after the start so not much recorded for me although Liz in our team has taken a few which I might get to see.
  5. MOE behaved very well, the only problem was fuel vapourisation at the top and the first part of the decent at Stelvio, cutting out with power steering on the bends was not a good experience Otherwise three pints of oil over about 2000 miles, lots of petrol but overall less than last time. (Inaccuracies in mileometer/Speedo makes it difficult for accuracy) Nothing fell off, although I was worried at the beginning because if exhaust popping on the over run, but she is quite highly tuned with Wittor manifold and semi sport exhaust and then I heard lots if others doing the same  I guessed that it was ok. Nearly all way points visited but missed the Swiss club due to running late and atrocious diversions.
  6. I have booked the 1400 out and 1400 back, the traffic is so unpredictable I wouldn't risk the 12pm from Brum, and don't really want to be leaving really early.
  7. Damn it should check the web page earlier next time!
  8. Ah should have said all known hotels booked, not privy to insider information, most certainly no overnighting here!
  9. All hotels booked, we were going to arrive early and visit the louwman car museum in the Hague, but a £300 price tag for petrol and accommodation and an extra 356miles kinda took the edge off, so maybe another time.
  10. [quote=Slimboyfat] Courier with windows. It's still here, all be it in a disassembled state. It went like the wind, WMA will always be a fond memory. Cheers Chris
  11. Hi everyone, due to a worsening of my long term heart condition, I have had to withdraw from this years event, my RBRR started (as far as I remember) in 1986, I have used lots of different cars, my old Courier van now lovingly restored by Chris Gunby was a regular competitor, the one year I failed to complete was a borrowed John Kipping herald estate which drove magnificently but diff seal failure meant giving up in Birmingham on the southward journey. In the last few years I have been the proud owner of a Mk1 2000 much loved and modified, I did offer the team the use of the car but they didn't want to break up the team and hopefully you will see us marshalling in some daytime fixture in the South west. The good news is that a first time team is to replace us. Take Care Chris Allen
  12. MOE has two new tyres, just have to change the seat runners this week, can't decide if I should rip off the front bumper and fit a set of cibie Oscars I've have since 1980 something.......probably won't!
