Hi all, Just to state that the Rules and Regulations plus entry form for the CT 'solo will be out in the next edition of Secretary's Notes which will hopefully drop onto the old doormat on Monday. Date of the event: Sunday 02/10/11. MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE WILL NEED TIMING MARSHALS. SURPRISINGLY THIS ACTIVITY IS GOOD FUN AND PUTS ONE WHO MIGHT NOT LIKE TO DRIVE REALLY INTO THE THICK OF IT. All members on the CT A'solo mini series listing will get copies sent via e-mail. 50 so places available for CT members, usual cost of £25-dammed good value! We will be sending out the rules and regs to the following Clubs: MGoT CSMA Oxford MC Bedford MC We are hoping that we get a few CT members that are new to Autosolos taking part, remember that all Triumph cars are catered for and we have seperate classes for the types. We would love to find some CT members who can really compete for class wins. Watching the driving amongst the RBRR and 10CR crews, some can obviously drive, be interesting to see if they can pass muster at this sport. Car control, smooooooth operation of controls and the ability to place a car being the main requirements. Right, that'll be the gauntlet thrown down then! Should be a great day, if maybe a little blustery and possibly wet.

I reckon they are essential-I'd rather know if the engine was suffering than live in temporary bliss!!! Go for a mechanical gauge. Mini 850s used to be a good source of Smiths oil pressure gauges.

James and Tim, I agree: Phoenix single box system for me. Wheelbarrows are awful, make the cars sound agricultural-er, no thanks! My Spit has a wheelbarrow on it at pres., this is coming off soon when the single Phoenix system arrives.

This year I was surprised by the effect of daylight, I woke up fully on Sunday morning as soon as the sun rose. I never eat much on the RBRR, I find too much food just makes me tired. Without making a play for sympathy, the buck does stop with me for all aspects fo the event. This tends to make me apprehensive and I do not eat as much as I should. On the 10CR I eat like a pig!

1 packet of crisps on Friday 1 rasher of bacon and a fried egg at JOG 1 motorway sarnie and a pork pie at Lancaster Small brekkie at Scorrier Piece of cake (Victoria sponge) at Pimperne 4 or 5 cups of coffee otherwise. Umm, a healthy diet!

Ferny was smoking a cheroot at one of the stops-must admit tired as I was I thought it was faeces????

I had to stick 3l of what ever I could find on the event-so that will be dropped out soon. Oil pressure stayed good throughout, at 3 grand I had something like 65psi. Will be using VR1 when I change the oil.

I have found that using more readily available oil such as Duckhams or Halfords Classic, the oil pressure on my engine(s) goes off alarmingly when used on a Track day or similar. No such issues with VR1. By the way, I run oil coolers with thermostats on both my cars. Ain't they essential for long strokers?

Steve, VR1 is a good oil, I use it in my cars. Well worth it. If anything as the RBRR does have some fast sections, the quality of oil is important.

Just had a call from Paul Darbyshire, Ian Heeley, Andy Flexney and Mike Helm, its bloomin' snowing there! Jeez!

Still a ghost town though! Amazing place. Shame about the Stelvio is the amount of cycles one encounters, don't people realise that roads are for cars!! Suppose its a case of choosing your time to make the ascent?

Slight bit of modification needed, if I get permission! A real pain attempting to find anywhere that is open at midnight on a Friday in Co Durham or Northumberland!

Blimey, do you know every place in the north of Enland and Scotland! No reply as yet to my letter, if this establishment is unwilling to help then I will not seek a stop between Blyth and Ed. Airport.

Can't remember the offset for my wheels, but they are 5.5J. I don't like massively wide tyres on these cars, 195/65 15 are the tyre size on my car.
