  1. Hi Darren, I have sent you a PM! Regards, Dave K.
  2. Thanks for your reply glang. Yes, not quite running correct! Seems down on power at top end and feels like a minor mis-fire. I have now booked it in at Moordale Motors as I have another issue that I want Dale and co to look at for me! Cheers, Dave.
  3. Many thanks for your response glang! Dave.
  4. Hi All! I have just had a vacuum (smoke) test on my mk2 PI. Would anyone know if it is correct for the smoke to appear from :- i) Where the butterfly linkage spindle inserts into the the throttle bodies? (This is appearing on all three bodies). ii) From the bottom of the Vacuum dome (which is screwed down with four set screws? (This is the "seam" just below the vacuum intake union and not he union itself). Both units are newly reconditioned. I'm just concentrating on the vacuum side at the moment!!!! Any help appreciated. Dave.
  5. I know the feeling - when we broke down in Bavaria (10CR 2011) it was quite an effort for me to get everything organised via many phone calls for three of us to get home; the three of us plus car were taken to a garage adjacent a vehicle rental firm which after lots of phone conversations with the breakdown cover people agreed we could use, informing us to go to Stuttgart airport which was about an hour away with the flight time being only a short while after this. After a fairly hectic drive, giving the car back to the hire firm at the airport and getting to the departures terminal we were informed that the airline organised for us didn't operate from Stuttgart, the nearest one being at Munich airport! Being tired, fed up and concerned for my co-drivers you can imagine how unimpressed I was! I must admit though that the car appeared on my driveway very quickly.
  6. Good luck to all - have a safe and great journey!
  7. Long time ago... Barney (Bum) (Awarded the "Home made Medal for saving "All Hands On Deck" when one of my Dad's model boats sank and Bum retrieved it from the bottom of the boating pool! (Yes, we did used to shout "Bum" to retrieve him)!!!

    Nuala Dowie

We didn't know Nuala but this is still very shocking and sad news. Our condolences to family and friends, Dave and Hayley.
  9. As Karl writes above, many thanks to all who made this great event happen, Dave and Hayley.
  10. Thank you all for your helpful comments! I have decided to go for the Falken SN832A Ecoruns at £60 each incl valve, balance, disposal of old tyre and VAT. Cheers!
  11. Hi All! I am looking to re new the tyres on my PI. I am using Stag alloys and currently use Bridgestones 185 x 70 x 14 88H. I probably cover around 2000 - 3000 miles per year as well as the odd Club T event now and again; RBRR, 10CR, or C2C on top of this mileage. I do not think I drive particularly hard (cornering etc) but do keep a fair speed for sustained times on motorways etc. A friend of mine suggested buying tyres online as he can change the tyres, valves and balance the wheels for me to try and keep costs down. Any sensible(!) suggestions as to which brand would be appreciated!
  12. Hi, Ian and myself didn't actually finish - we just went back to the finish!!!! We still had a great time , meeting up with Don and John the evening before then having a look around Yorkshire on the Saturday daytime. It was great to catch up with old friends but i would of preferred to meet Paul and Dorota in different circumstances. there was a cattle grid in the road adjacent to us so the traffic was slowing but i did jump a few times with the noise of traffic crossing it! Ps Its not a good idea trying to catch some sleep next to a Lighthouse that sounds it's horn every two minutes! Nice photos!!!! Massive thank you's to Chris and all for making this event happen - really appreciated.
  13. Team 15 Dave Kirk, Ian Pearce plan to be there.
  14. Thanks Howard, much appreciated!
