    Boot Hinge

Hi All, How difficult is it to change a boot and rear deck hinge please? The passenger side one has bent and the wheel is pressing against the boot lid strengthener so looks to be under some tension. Is it a one man job or will I need some help? Thanks

    Diff rating

Hi All, My diff is leaking oil quicker than I can put it it but is still quiet on driving. However I have an auto box and I'm also looking for lower revs at speed, I'm currently running at 3000 rpm at just over 60 mph. I have been offered a 3:7:1 or a 3:45:1, both recon at about £400. Which would be better suited to the car or would I be better off having my own rebuilt and how much would I expect to spend please? Any help gratefully received. Regards Fish

    Stag Boot Hinge

Thanks Guys, I was expecting it to be under pressure so looks as though it might be easier than I thought. Regards Fish

    Stag Boot Hinge

Hi All, The passenger side boot hinge roller things has bent and the roller now fires off the side of the hinge with a hefty thud. I have tried to bend it back straight but it just bends itself back to the knackered position. I have bought a second hand replacement but this looks to be a pig to fit, is there an easy way or does the boot lid and soft top cover need to come off and am I likley to loose any fingers in the process, any help gratefully accepted please as the trusty Haynes manual glosses over it? Thanks Fish

    Fuel Tank Capacity

Thanks Guys, but my query is how much can I put in before the fuel level rises above the well where the sender unit sits? I have bought a second hand replacement tank as I couldn't justify nearly £400 on a new one but can't get it to seal where the sender unit is fitted so need to run the tank below this level. If I assume 3/4 full I probably would be at about 40 litres? Thanks

    Fuel Tank Capacity

Hi All, I have been having a problem where the fuel tank leaks around the sender unit. I have tried various sealants but would like to know how many litres I can put in before the sender unit is fully immersed, any ideas please? Thanks
  9. Hi, I have been running mine on a 185/70/14 Nexen, they have have been across europe twice with four adults and luggage for both Le Mans Classic and Spa Classic, are showing very little wear after approx 5,000 miles and give just a little more wheel arch clearance. The sat nav speed shows very similar to the speedo at 70 mph are so I'm not too worried about that either. Regards Andy

    Oil Cooler

Hi All, I have a retro fit engine oil cooler and have replaced the hoses as they were starting to look tired and brittle. Since doing so I noticed the thermostat valve is now leaking. Rimmers want £75 plus vat for a new one and with only four weeks before Spa I am running out of time and cash to replace. I know it's a bodge but can I get away with bypassing it and replacing later? I know this will mean it will take longer for the engine to come up to temperature but will it have any other effects too? Am I likely to cause any damage? Will it affect oil pressure? Any thoughts and help gratefully received please. Thanks Fish
