  1. Are you sure it's not a fault with your hose ? or a sealing washer That air has to be coming from somewhere. Tony
  2. Fair enough. I still don't see anywhere that says don't use the clutch .I only remember the bent splines in my Rapier. so I'll keep doing it my way. Thanks. Tony.
  3. Don't know if its been mentioned, I haven't read all posts. I ALWAYS use the clutch when engaging/disengaging overdrive. I do this as I once owned a Sunbeam Rapier which had a bad oil leak. .End story gearbox main shaft badly twisted on the splines which I reckon was caused by the previous owner not using the clutch( I know because he took me for a drive before I bought it ) and the shock loading was too much.
  4. The standard gauge thread is 3/8 x28tpi.Taps are available. Easy if you have access to a lathe.. Tony.
  5. Unfortunately won't work in countries outside of UK. Tony.

    Rusting chrome

Or of course you could always investigate stainless steel one's  🤓 Tony.
  7. My initial thought would be a faulty master cylinder. New seals don't always fix them. I recently had mine resleeved and rekitted. Back to normal now. Tony.
  8. It happens in New Zealand too. God knows how many drivers (?) run around in semi darkness or worse with only parking lights on. This is illegal here. Tony.

    head gasket

For more years that I care to remember I've always used a smear of grease on head gaskets. Not sure that it's necessary but followed my late fathers advice and never had any failures. Tony.
  10. Why does everyone think they know better than the original engineers in trying to  ' improve' a good existing design. If you want more power buy a bigger car.🤬 Tony.
  11. You probably don't want to hear this,  but you may need to remove the frost plugs and to poke round in behind them  to remove all the rubbish... I had to do this with my 2500 block. Mind you it was easier for me as I had the motor out. Tony.
  12. The 1/2" pipe the the hoses connect to has a 1/4" hole where the short tee piece is welded on. It takes little sludge at this point to block circulation. Tony.
