  1. Much appreciated, I messaged Barry prior to posting this up but think he might have been busy or tide up at the recent NEC car show as I never heard back …. but that you 3 for the ideas & directions it’s much appreciated- if I get any joy I’ll return & post an update ….. All the best - Jonathan
  2. I’ve been slowly trying to bring a little old Acclaim bk into life & onto the road (had aimed for 11/11 as that’s the ‘birthday-registration’ 11/11/82, so will be turning 40), I wasn’t able to locate a radiator (was in need of replacement), so had this re-cored and the only issue is most of not all of the old water hoses are looking very tired & brittle & I don’t want to put them back on as I doubt they’ll last …. So…. I’d like to get a new set of Acclaim rubber hoses for the cooling system , but I’ve no idea who / where / how to locate them ? (I’d also like new ones as it would help tidy up the engine bay as these old ones look more like they are 400 years old , than 40). If your able to help / sign post me where I can go that would be amazing , thank you . & thank you for taking the time to read my message…. All the best Jonathan
  3. Much appreciated feedback …. I’d hate to pull the wings off as I’m trying to keep ‘Oli’ (Oliver as he’s known) as much to ‘as was’ as possible. My dad n uncle are / were immense with cars / automotives but in truth I’m only a good ‘second’ pair of hands and as you’ll all kinda know with cars the first part of the battle is ‘tools & space’ , & there lies the main problem, the lock-up (as we used to call it) , was the home of mine, my dads & uncles little projects but associated with lock-down financial cuts / losses the owner of the site (it’s an old air base from the 2nd either war) has to start selling bits off for redevelopment, out little corner was kinda the last to go , September/October this year …. So… looking at this with a logical head on with no indoor discs on going to have to get someone to complete the work now anyway BUT your messages & photos ARE amazing as they help me put the problem into a 3 dimensional perspective so the’t truly have been brilliant to see / read … Please feel free to add anything else … all the best Jonathan
  4. Possibly a two sided question but if anyone has an answer to either option it would be gratefully received …. I’m hoping to use the winter / spring to work on getting my /my dads / uncles little Triumph Toledo back on the road & one area I’d like to tidy up is the top front section of both front wings as both have a rust patch (about the size of your palm on each of the front wings, and bizarrely in the same place / spot , despite the rest of both wings being just about perfectly fine ?). So my request / question is …. 1) Are there any fabricated sections / patches available? OR…. If that’s not an option 2) Dose anyone have a pair of Triumph Toledo RWD Front Wings for sale / that I could buy? Or know of any ? Apologies for the slightly long message/question , Any help or assistance/advice/direction here would be massively appreciated. Sincerely Jonathan
  5. Thank you for the idea - it might be, I’ll see if I can follow this as a possible option … much appreciated
  6. Thank you ! I was hoping to keep ‘George’ ( didn’t name him , he was owned before me by an older gent, & that’s the name his children have given the car ), / the car as original as possible …. BUT… other than attempting a radiator repair , I’m kinda scraping the barrel to find a replacement, So massively appreciate the extra set of eyes & idea…. It’s an unusual size radiator that they decided to fit & if I’m unable to hunt down / find one that’s an acclaim-spec I was hoping to try find one that was a similar size-to fit …. So really do appreciate your ‘work around solution’ , and I’ll keep the idea in mind… Thank you so much for the message , jonathan
  7. Possibly in need of a replacement Radiator for a Triumph Acclaim 1.3HLS. If anyone might have one or could point me in the direction of where to go hunting/looking forward one or a variant which would fit please ? Thanks again Jonathan
