  1. I will check panel gaps but nothing obvious from memory. Would 155/70/13 still run ok on the above rims though? Thanks
  2. Looked and rim is 5.5j with rim inset of 25 mm. Would a 155 tyre still be suitable? Thanks
  3. Hi all, Had a search but couldn't find any info so thought I'd ask. I have 175/70/13 on a Minotaur 13j wheel and the front tyre looks a little close on the front arch to point reckon it would touch under suspension compression. What size tyre is normally run on these or is this normal clearance? Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the responses everyone. Mechanical sympathy then a rebuild when the weather dictates garage rather than road time! Drained oil found a few metal filings on magnet sump plug with slight bronze wear in the oil but nothing major.
  5. Hi all, seems 2nd gear occasionally grinds and not fully engaging unless very deliberate action on putting into gear. Question is this a common trait on a 1500 spitfire box or a potential issue to resolve? All other gears are fine with no unusual noise from gearbox. Thanks
  6. Just ordered a set as suggested £37 on fleabay. Thanks Clive
  7. Thanks all. I will look to buy the mintex 1144 then. Now flooding on rear carb bowl so will add to the jobs list! Thanks as always folks.
  8. Hi all, I've just replaced the calipers and pads on my 1500 spitfire and not exactly impressed with the performance. All bled well no air in system, pedal feels good. Pads were generic in plain box with new calipers, so thinking not the best. Can anyone recommend a good pad for standard driving and where to purchase? Thanks
  9. Thanks all for your replies I'm sure as I get further into the spitfire ownership I will be requesting the experience of the triumph sages on here. Think it sounds like fitchitts and parklane\newtons then.
  10. Hounds tooth, sorry typo on first post as well!
  11. Hi all. New owner of a 1500 spitfire 1981. Looking to refurbish the seats and wondered what is the most cost effective approach? Looking to replace foams and covers currently it has bounds tooth and vinyl beige. Any answers appreciated. Thanks
