  1. I'd recommend replacing the studs anyway, as the previous torquing and subsequent removal will have weakened them slightly. The last thing you want it a stud shearing off as you re-torque it - then you really WILL have problems!
  2. Cheers Pete, I'll have a look at it now. I think it probably happened when I loaded it up with logs for the wood-burning stove...
  3. My "Boot Open" warning light won't go out, so I figure the switch is probably jammed, but I can't find where it is!!! Can anyone help? Jon
  4. Hi Martin, We had a cracked rear screen on the Boxster and a local guy stitched in a new one. He could probably fix this fairly cheaply... Have a work with Nick Smallbone at Smallbone Cars in Gisburn, he'll give you the number...
  5. I'd be interested in seeing data by orignal build date, regardless of model...
  6. Hi Jamie, the first is indeed fused relays for halogen headlights and airhorns the second (from memory) is I think voltage stabilizer? (can't go out and look, it's too dark!
  7. Do it all in one go, you won't regret it. Needs a bit of hacking around to extend the aperfture in the tunnel, but it's a well documented modification...
  8. There's no way that trailer can take that weight surely? twin axle, 4 wheeler? How many tons per wheel???
  9. The difficult part is getting a hand with a spanner round the back to hold the nut!
  10. I have moulded carpets. Vacuum them. Then scrub in the bath (don't get in with them!), and hang over a radiator to dry.
  11. Cars built back in the 60's-80's were built on non-robotic production lines, so there was a margin of "human error". Panel gaps will be variable as a consequence, and pattern panels will not exactly help, but with a little fettling it should be perfectly possible to get a decent fit. For what it's worth the famously expensive Ferrari 250 GTO has one door 10mm longer than the other and no 2 cars are the same!
  12. SatNav is useful when driving at night, even if you are not using it to navigate it gives you plenty of warning if there's a tight bend ahead, so no nasty hairpin surprises!
  13. Wow! Congratulations, Theo. Superb work (you obviously have too much time and money on your hands tho!)
  14. Certainly better build quality than some of the Speke cars! lol
  15. Theo, by most people's standards that engine IS clean! I'd eat my dinner off it!
  16. Just looking through all your photos, Theo - Have you flipped some of them with photo editing software, or have you made a fundamental mistake? it looks like you've fitted the steering and pedals on the wrong side?
  17. A bit OTT all that just to get your 10CR sticker off! I've heard if you just warm it with a hair dryer...
