  1. Hi, 1/4" BSP fitting fits into the hole in my MK1 2.0L block.
  2. Hi, I have searched the forum for anything to help me with my question, but could not find anything, so I am hoping someone might have some ideas. I have stripped down my MK1 Vitesse engine ready for machining work priot to rebuilding. There is a lot of gunge and rust etc behind the pushrod tubes. Can I remove the tubes and get replacements, or use the old ones if I drift them out carefully? Has anyone attempted this or got any solutions/ideas? Many thanks Adam
  3. Hi, I am rebuilding a pair of calipers and all four of the pistons had seized. I split the calipers after sourcing the correct new seal from Canley's. My solution was to drill a 5mm hole in the centre and then tap an M6 thread(i know our cars are imperial, but I knew the drill/tap size without looking it up and had an M6 bolt to hand :-)). Using a suitable bolt I then was able to "wind" the pistons out of the caliper body. Just be careful you don't drill into the caliper body and give the whole thing a soak in penetrating fluid for a few days! I could not find the torque settings for the caliper bolts in my workshop manual, but searching it seems that 40-45ftlbs for the small ones and 70-75ftlbs for the larger ones is right. BTW I had my calipers ultrasonically cleaned and grit blasted by http://martechengineeringuk.com/ -no affiliation, just had great service from Martin.
  4. Hi, Has anyone bought one of these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140890234693?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 I was looking at getting my original radiator re-cored with unrated number of fins, but this item costs only a little more, is lighter and should last longer. However, having been stung for import costs on some items from Canada, they have to be taken into account as well. If there were a number of takers, or one of the spares suppliers could take on the local supply in the UK, I am sure there would be some takers.
