cliftyhanger wrote: As to getting heat out of the engine bay, the idea of a separate fan mounted somewhere (where???) to help shirt the hot air would be good. But surely throwing cool air in from the front will push more air out of the engine bay anyway?? I realise not in the ideal direction when stationary, but we can't have everything...... I'm with Clive here. Has anyone tried using 12v PC fans to extract hot air from the engine bay. They should, at least, be reliable given the work they're expected to do? Electric water pumps should help too.

Did the same kind of thing but used the intake of a cheap 12v tyre compressor/pump. Worked well, you don't need a lot of vacuum to suck the fluid out of a brake system.

Don't suppose suggesting you block the holes in the top would be all that helpful?

Hi Martin, In my "original manual" (Mk1, Mk2 etc) they are quoting 12-16 lb/in, I don't suppose there is a massive difference between the Mk1/Mk2 and 1500 differentials, it suggests your lower value of 0.193 kg/m is the correct preload. Hope this helps. Cheers, James

Ichthyosaur? Last week's roast? I generally tend to throw decent sized bones out for the dogs.

Shouldn't make any difference but have you swapped the shockers over to see if it does? If the ride height is the same on both sides and the shocks are identical then the asymmetry must be caused by different mounting points, or methods, L to R.

Looks like you could "adjust" the tunnel a couple of millimetres without changing the "H" support.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with the opinions above. You need to sit and think for a bit, measure everything up, decide what needs to be moved and where! Then, after a slow and considered, judicious even, appraisal of the "facts" take a FBH and belt the sucker! Good luck, Cheers, James
