ALL
DAY
29 August 2021
From Heather Botteley, BCC
Dear all,
You will have noted the abject failure of the men’s attempt to run an autotest in June (actually not their fault at all; the loss of venue was completely out of their hands) so now a woman is going to have a go at putting something on for the Club!
You have done my ‘family’ treasure hunts in the past and, if that didn’t put you off(!), I thought you might like to have a go at another one when all these horrid COVID restrictions are finally lifted.
It will follow my usual format of having about 4 hours to answer around 25 questions to be found map references that I will give you at the start, plus some ‘treasure’ to be collected and perhaps a low-key artistic fun challenge to be carried out, all between 2pm and 6pm.
That bloke that runs The Bulletin and his cronies tell me that Boris’ restrictions or no, MSUK protocols will almost certainly apply for some time yet and I think I’ve come up with a way that I can run the event without any hand-to-hand paperwork contact. I’m also thinking I could find somewhere in the open to finish the event with a picnic, rather than meeting in a pub. When I know who is entering, and nearer the event, I will e-mail everyone with exactly how all these arrangements will be carried out.
So, if after all this time cooped up by various waves of pandemic, you fancy a fun Sunday afternoon doing silly and fun things in the countryside(!) drop me an e-mail or ring me (details below) and get yourself on the entry list.
Because of MSUK current COVID protocols YOU CANNOT JUST BOOK THE NIGHT BEFORE OR TURN UP ON THE DAY.
Regards
Heather

NEW CLASSES FOR THIS SEASON We are trying out some new classes for this season, which we hope to try and stimulate more interest from those that used to do them and that we hope we can entice you back or those who haven't tried them before. RallyRun For those that want to enjoy doing the event, but not have to plot any navigation. You can run in this class for as long as you like. RallyRun crews will not be classified in the overall standings for the event. Navigation by marked map. Novice For those not classified as Expert, but would like to work out the navigation, but can’t manage it all whilst doing the event due to time taken or having to be stopped whilst working it out. Navigation issued ¾hrs before start. Semi-Expert For those not classified as Expert, but are keen to work out the navigation whilst going around the route. Navigation issued at controls on route. Expert Shall have won one or more class or overall awards on a permit event or won a 12 Car event, within the last three years. Navigation issued at controls on route. The Navigators classification will determine the class of the crew regards navigation received. Navigation will be tailored to suit the classes; RallyRun will receive a fully marked map (or high-quality colour photocopy), Experts will receive (slightly) more challenging route cards than the Semi-Experts/Novices.
