I don't think my speedo is particularly accurate, but in a 2.5l GT6 we did home to home (Essex) 1,852 miles, with 330litres costing £583, and averaging 26mpg.   But there was quite a bit of variance in that, being particularly low from a fast thrash down the M6, and the fun section Glendrid to Monmouth 🙂 
But none of that matters.  It's mile of smiles and all that.   If I was worried about costs, I'd buy a diesel eurobox and drive at 56mph everywhere (before shooting myself)

A local (to me) classic car garage - Bridge Classic Cars - had a 'coffee & cars' day yesterday so I went up with my car still sporting the RBRR stickers and road dirt.  

After hearing the story, they offered to do a video about it.  It's just been published on their website with me waffling on about it a bit.  Hope I said some of the right things!

That garage exit did for my exhaust too.  Thankfully, not too badly, but it's on the jobs list to fix now.

Team 129 (red GT6) and Team 38 (Yellow GT6).  We re-grouped at Tebay after setting off together from Gartosh and shared stories. 

Richard & Andrew in the red GT6 - leaving the Glasgow control stop, not only took the wrong exit from the car park, but then heading for England, turned on to the M74 heading North! They had to turn around some miles later after realising the signs didn’t look right. 

Karl & Nathan in the yellow GT6 - pulled into the motorway services (with the Geese), and Karl picked up the first pump in view that said Premium (we have to look after our cars!). Unfortunately it was the diesel variety. Realising this mistake after only a litre or two, hastily changed and mixed it with 50l of much nicer petrol flavoured dinosaur juice.  Thankfully, a hot run down the M6 to Wales meant that diesel was burnt off pretty quickly without issue. 

RBRR fully delivered this year.  Hugely challenging in places, but that's partly what it's all about.   

Can't thank the organising team and all the volunteering marshals enough. The event ran so smoothly from our perspective. 

Thanks also to Darren, Andy Cooke and 'DAH' for offering assistance for what appeared to be a failing wheel bearing at Monmouth.  (I nursed it home and will be looked at along with some other strange noises in the coming weeks).

I've been 'fortunate enough' (?) to have been up and down the A1 in the last couple of weeks.   There are roadworks near Wentbridge where it goes down to single lane and then into a contraflow.   The traffic can be slow, but hopefully not when we are there.  (if looking for this on the map, it's shortly before the M62 junction)

Just a heads up: On every trip there has been a speed camera van in the middle of the roadworks near the start of the contraflow section for the 40mph section.

Yep.  Guilty as charged! 🙂 

We had a mooch around the museum too and were surprised how empty the car park was.  We were leaving relatively promptly because my son is my crew for the RBRR and he'd not driven my GT6 before Saturday!  It was an excuse to get a lot of miles in as preparation.   I'm pleased / relieved to say he handled it well.

What a brilliant event!   There have been lots of comments on the WhatsApp group already, but adding more here.   I haven't dared work out the fuel economy; I mean, what's the point - smiles per mile is way more important.  My speedo broke just before the event, but with one phone showing a digital speedo and the other showing the route on Google maps, we didn't get lost and kept on pace.   Roughly 460 miles, in 12 hours of driving...  that's a good pace to maintain 🙂 

Absolutely stunning scenery, and some fantastic roads for a spirited drive.  I was enjoying the roads so much I didn't stop for photos.  

Massive thanks to everyone involved in making it happen.  Here's to next year's run, and of course the RBRR this year too (speedo to be fixed by then)

Just a quick note to say thanks to all those who made the event happen this year.  Great event, great route and the activities with the Railway at Porthmadog really added an extra dimension too.   Looking to seeing the video of the cars with the trains in all 4 seasons weather from Saturday morning.

The Car has done the event with the previous, previous owner according to the history file, but I don't know in which year.  Hopefully she knows what to do, because it's my first time.
