  1. Never been to Rally North Wales as a spectator so was just wandering to see if anyone has experience.

Cars are sent off from Welshpool from 8am tomorrow morning.

Looked at the entry list and it's quite good really plenty of Escorts unfortunately no TR7 V8s.

Car parks on stage are £10 each but best of all, it is through the Welsh forests where the WRC cars run, so should be good fun.

Quite a trek for me from Northampton but what a lovely part of the world to visit.

  2. Hi JohnD 😀

Excellent article, you must admit bodgery is alive and very well demonstrated throughout.

270bhp though from the rear wheels, from a TR6, so at the flywheel thats ???

They are to be used with sense and sensibility im afraid, i would be fitting a rev limiter, to avoid over enthusiasm, and controlling the boost to a minimum from the outset. i don't think trying to add an extra 125% plus of power is what i would have been trying to achieve,,,,,glad somebody has though.

  3. Hi Nick, yes it is an unusual thing for sure, that is why i purchased it, with the intention of using it on my saloon.

There are a few TR6 's that have been converted to Turbo power or indeed Supercharged to gain a little bit more fun with the right foot, my idea was to try a 2L though.

Pictures i have available unfortunately are from the original advertisement. These do give you a good idea of what it all looks like in situ. I hope this is of help to you.

Included is just the turbo manifold and associated pipework, you will need your own carb/inlet manifold plus fuel and oil feed etc

  4. Hi everybody I have some surplus parts which I'm looking at selling please, I am in Northampton.

I know I will not get my money back on these items so I am open to offers if there is anything that you need.

I have a full set of excellent black cloth pfl mk11 saloon seats, no runners on fronts I'm sorry

Black door cards to go with above, excellent condition, no speaker holes

Mk11 2000 auto saloon propshaft, purchased as a good spare and never needed

    Mk11 Stag white fibreglass bootlid

1500 Spitfire rear driveshafts with uprights

Gt6/vitesse front brake calipers for refurb, perfect if you need some to exchange

2000 saloon black carpet set complete, I think this was called auto velour, so quite cheap, so it's not the best quality but it came out of a car really well, it does need some glue cleaning off but it's in good condition and it's yours for free if you need it

Also 3 2000 saloon manual props all need balancing though, free

Any items of interest please get in contact

    Many thanks happy new year

  5. Just checking in with you frenchiemk2.

Have been watching this for some time now, I think since July 21, last post was a while back, please give us an update.

I'm hoping I haven't missed something and all the progress has been moved to a different thread 😉

Anyhow as many of us do, i hope all is well with you, I just can't wait to here how the triumph is coming on.

You have done so very well, the car has come so far, it's been a fantastic journey to follow, all the help and encouragement too. Any update would be great ☺ please it's Christmas after all.

I thought mine was an early one but WoW a H plate, it looks Amazing, a huge credit to you.

    Is yours manual or automatic?

What a fantastic stable mate for the TR.

It looks like another one is lurking in the back there also 😃 it is addictive

This is my other soft spot, another early car, manual overdrive, Saffron with black interior

  7. There is some good advise there by Nick Jones, frenchiemk2, this is a good place for help and support.

I hopefully too have given you some divine inspiration.

The little bit that you have already done looks fantastic, keep up the good work ☺

  8. Piston tops cleaned, lots of carbon, all cam followers now done also.

Just got to clean up the head and fit new gasket then reassemble and set up. Carbs were really quite rich but were running k & n style filters, I may put back to original air cleaner box and twin pipes. The carbs are early type with bottom adjustment, some people prefer these.

Things are coming on slowly but hopefully sometime soon we shall be able to enjoy her again and with a little more confidence too 😃
