  1. The urethane company (based on ur side of the pond) do a padded dash filler, I used it as a topcoat following what you are doing and it finished it really well. Now it's covered in new vinyl I can't tell where I repaired. Prob a lot cheaper your side too.

  2. I'm planning on this upgrade, I love them, open windows in winter and a warm bum!!
Things to consider - power supply, both wires and alt output, they are quite hungry in terms of amps esp when u will use when fan on, heated rear screen etc.... I put a bigger alt in for that reason. Plan to fit when seats recovered. Whenever that may be.

  3. I did the por 15 on mine. Had a little weep on one seem which it sorted lovely. If u do use this system get more of the cleaner as I needed two lots to get mine clean.

Also don't spill it on ur drive. Looks like vomit and it doesn't come off!!

  4. They are called scallops I think, got mine from a fixings place, they were trade only and would only sell 100 at a time but(for the 1st time for me) two were put in my hand with a wink, sound more dodgy than it actually was. Could dig out the place if needed.

  5. Hi
Can't answer all your questions, but as I only took mine (mk3 gt6) apart on Tuesday I can't still remember!!
There should be a frat lined rubber in the channels on both ends -could be the source of the noise? There is a slight bend in the frame i think??!! I have two spare doors and they have the same bend in as well so unlikely to be coincidence!
I got my new bits from guy on in here, rarebits I think has a website, rarebitsforclassics.net
    Hope some help.

  6. Another vote for the por fuel kit, sorted my tank amazingly. I would suggest you get another bottle of cleaner as I did use most of the 2nd to get it really clean.
Don't spill the sealer though!!! Makes a mess of the drive -ask me how I know that!!!

  7. i'd never touched a carb before I rebuilt mine, got a rebuild kit from Andrew turner as advised above. Spent a lot of time cleaning, its amazing the dirt you get of something that looks clean to start with. and rebuild in reverse. lots of pics along the way helps as does only do one carb at a time.
can always get someone to rebuild later if you mess it up, but what you learn, and the satifcation you get when it works is immense! I did the same for the engine but I did have someone watching me for that one.

good luck and have a go.
