  1. Hi,
I am using a Hardi 14412 for my 1500 engine.
The first one lasted 10 years. Then, the membrane got stiff. The electronics and valves were still fine.
Just bought a new 14412 to replace it. Kept the old one for spares. Never know.
I use it with a Lucas C41220 Inertia Switch.

  2. Hello,
Please, can anyone tell me if all 1300 sump gaskets are the same? Or adaptable to fit.
I was looking at the Payen EG090 gasket set, but is doesn't hold a sump gasket.
So, I was wondering if any 1300 sump gasket would fit between the 1300 FWD engine block and the FWD diff-sump.
    Thank you.

  3. Please, can you advise me?

What paint colour is on a standard front damper spring/coil of a 1300FWD?
Is it Grey for both sides? If find Grey and Pink on the internet but I am not sure if this is a different rating or just left/right.
A stripe of Green paint means Heavy Duty? For left and right?

    Thank you for helping!

  4. Hello,

    Please, could someone advise me?
I am working on a leaking Triumph 1300 FWD clutch slave cylinder.
And I have this NOS 1500 clutch slave cylinder laying about.

    Can I swap out the 1300 model (64068381) for a 1500 model (64068388)?

    I know that:
The 1500 model has a longer body (longer stroke?)
Has the same bore as the 1300 model (7/8")
But the piston is a bit longer and has a spring behind it

Is the 1500 model an improvement on the 1300 model?

    Thank you.

  5. With just a 15% increase, and only in the danger zone with high demands, it should be OK then.
A high current at low revs can happen as well. I never thought of that.
I was just wondering if the charging limit is a setting that can be adjusted or that it is the current regulator bobbin having 2 windings less.
Maybe adjusting the cam could level out the 15% difference.
But for now, Ill keep it as it is. And keep an eye on it.

    Thank you for your help.

  6. Please,

    Can you advise me?

I bought a new control box for my 1969 1300 TC. It is in my car now and performing well.
    However. By mistake, I bought a 25Amp model instead of a 22Amp.
Will this overheat the commutator on the dynamo at high rev's?

    Thank you!

  7. Hi,

    Please, can anyone advise me?

I am trying to adjust the clutch fork so that the clutch bearing is not toughing the fingers of the clutch cover. The clutch plate has been renewed.

What I do, is push the action pin completely home in the slave cylinder.
Than, I put a gauge of 1/8" between the bearing and the fingers.
After that, the two bolts of the fork bracket are tightened again.

After applying the clutch pedal, the bearing moves forward.
After releasing the clutch pedal, the bearing just stays there, slightly touching the clutch cover.

I think the bearing should be free of the fingers.

What is the correct way of adjusting?

    Thank you.

  8. Please, can anyone advise me on finding a RH front suspension main bracket?
I tried some main suppliers but none have the part. New or used.
The one on my car is bent and welded up. I tried to make it strait again but the metal cracked. Now it is in an even worse state.
I know that the Dolomite has a different one. So, I cant use that. Or even convert it to FWD. To many differences.
    Thank you.

  9. Very good!

No, my car has an all original set up.
it's just that I read it a few times in listings of parts. So, I was wondering if there was a difference. But there isn't.

    Yes, the 1500's are bigger.
Interesting to know one can do a conversion to the "better"(?) CV's of a 1500 FWD.

    Thank you.

  10. Please, can anyone tell me the difference between a normal CV and a CV for the late 1300 models?

    Are they interchangeable?

What car would accept a Lancer LCV4? The Lancers are just a bit shorter in overall length  then the original ones.

    Thank you.

  11. Thank you Scrapman,

Yes they are on the list. But out of stock. I contacted him.

There are, however, these 1500 fwd front spring/damper units on the same list.

And I was wondering if that would work on my 1300 TC.
