  1. Here's the official update:
T1 The Estate (to be named by a member of the North Hampshire Area Club Triumph and announced at their meeting on 3 September...more suggestions on your area Facebook page gents) This car is in the capable hands of Jon Jackson.  HOWEVER, the tax disc is being mailed to Quiller where we will be Monday picking up...

T2 1300 FWD (Flipper) New clutch, master, slave, and hose which came from the previous owner Kenneth Roberts - MOT good and new wing. Tax disc to be retrieved from a post office by Quiller this week or me next Monday. Also bumpers donated to the cause by Paul Basher in Wales AND delivered from "deepest fookin Wales" to Quiller by Roy Lacey.

T3 Sprint Jon Jackson's car being sold to one of our guys (Billy Ray).  It's Pageant Blue and goes goes goes

T4 Mk I Saloon (Casper) Being cared for in a climate-controlled space by Roy and Tim up that way.  Midlands I think they call it.  This car will receive a new set of rear shocks/springs next Saturday because Tim told Doug his rear end sagged.  I think he was referring to Doug himself but who are we to question?

ONE GUY (unnamed unless he moves quickly) hasn't booked his flight yet and is trying to score the best deal.  (you may refer to him as Dum Dum)

ONE GUY couldn't make it due to work and has to life the rest of his sad sad life of our stories about Eastern European Hitchhikers in Daisy Dukes who don't speak English.

    Listed elsewhere but for ease
Monday night at the Ship & Bell Horndean
    Tuesday morning The Ace Cafe'
Tuesday afternoon - drive to Highclere and Stonehenge
Tuesday night The Crooked Billet for the local area club meeting.

Please join us on any and all opportunities.  Doug will buy a round for each and every one of you!

    Off to drive MY Sprint!

    Joe

  2. Hello All!

As you might recall Team Torpedo include twelve Americans who bought four cars in England heading over for the 10CR.

    2000 Mk II Estate
    1300 FWD (Flipper)
    Dolomite Sprint
    2000 Mk I Saloon

Last week Hagerty's quoted 395 pounds with a 1000 excess to insure each car for the tour.  While we don't have experience with insurance companies in the UK this price seems a bit steep.  Any help or thoughts from Triumph folks would be greatly appreciated (and probably compensated with pints and quarts).  Thanks!

  3. Doug don't be so modest.  As a syndicate member of Team Torpedo Doug owns a 1/11th (did I mention we're looking for a 12th?) share in Flipper the lovely 1300 FWD in primer.  We picked her up from PurbleBargeKen on the Dolomite Club forum for a song and then spent a symphony on her!  Probably going to upgrade to dual carbs and put the smaller Americans inside.  There ARE small Americans thank you.

  4. Premiere Classe Calais Centre-Gare
    Free ParkingAccommodation Type: Small Hotel
A hotel with a more intimate atmosphere than a larger hotel, offering fewer rooms, staff members and/or services; all rooms have private bathroom facilities.

Okay that was scary but you STILL get a round!

  5. Team Torpedo - 4 Teams - 11 Americans (looking for a twelfth) will be in Premiere Classe Calais Centre-Gare.  Apparently there are several bars/restaurants close by and it's cheap!  Friday is Motel Cosmera and Saturday Holiday Inn Express.
Yes, my friends I went to Germany and stayed in a Holiday Inn.  BUT HEY!  Roy and Ellis were there with Lambrini for all!

  6. Most of our guys participate in an annual event called Damn The Torpedoes (DTT).  It goes between 325-475 miles depending upon the organizer's whimsy.  It's true we're joining Andy at The Crooked Billet for the September meeting on the third.  The night before we'll be at The Ship and Bell in Horndean with Jon Jackson and family.  He's housing two of our cars.  The nice thing is that the rooms will be up the stairs.  I imagine we'll be a bit tired.  I'm working on loading photos of the starting line/finish and my cars.  So far no go!

  7. Joe Earnest here.  We are so excited about coming.  The help and attitude from the Club Triumph members is astonishing. It's amazing how cars can make instant friends.  Yes, we've purchased four cars from ebay and through the Dolomite Club.
Torpedo One:  2000 MK II Estate Wagon (will be housed at Jon Jackson's house down south)
Torpedo Two:  1300 FWD (named Flipper because of the paint or primer)  housed in Lewes - Looking for front/rear bumpers
Torpedo Three: Dolomite Sprint sale pending from Jon Jackson
Torpedo Four:  2000 MK I Saloon (Doug's car being housed by that Shropshire crowd of the Roy Gang)

My Mom and I saw a TR6 in 1969 when visiting my Dad at the golf course.  We were amazed.  When the TR7 came out she said she didn't like it and one day she'd have a TR6.  In 1984 I was dating a gal and things weren't going so well.  I took her ring money and bought Mom a TR6 for Mothers Day.  This accomplished two things.  1) It got rid of that girl 2) I assumed the title of "most-favorite son" FOREVER!  Since then I've had the Triumph bug.  Presently I have a Sprint, Stag, and Herald Saloon.  I'll upload some photos If I can figure it out.  By the way, I learned what chuffed and apples means this weekend.  Will there be an American-English interpreter on the 10CR?
