Thanks Alec.
It's not an electric fuel pump, but I have reconditioned the original pump, so the pressure is too high. -
Hi
I'm going to fit a fuel pressure regulator to my GT6. Which is the best?
Thanks -
I have a GT6 mk2. The fuel pump appears to be stuck open causing the carbs to flood.
My question is around the best option going forwards and want to know what options people have chosen:
1. Rebuild the original pump with a kit from James Paddock
2. Replace the mechanical fuel pump with electric.
If the electronic fuel pump is the way to go which is best.?
Thanks -
I have bought a hi torque starter motor - specifically Powerlite model RAC101 from Rimmers for my mk2 GT6.
Has anyone here fitted the same item - did you use the spacer from original inertia starter?
Thanks -
I'm about to fit a Hi Torque starter motor to my GT6 Mk2 - do I still need to install the spacer or that only for using the original starter.
Cheers -
The starter motor on my GT6 mk2 is now officially dead. I'm now left with the dilemma of which starter motor - standard or HiTorque.
What is the benefit of a HiTorque starter motor over the significantly cheaper standard unit? Or not as the case may be? -
Hi
I'm sure this is a stupid question, but is there a trick to removing the pull/boost knob from the slider. The bolt to hold it has already been removed.
Alternatively are heater slider plate and knobs meant to detach from the wood panel
Thanks -

These are H rated and definitely "Premium" :)
Thanks John - what make are they?
How do they handle? -
Thank you for the replies. I'm looking for a premium brand - which ones do people prefer. Which handle best etc... ?

Hi
I know the have been lots of threads about tyre sizes, but it know I want to stay on 155/80 13.
What I'm looking for advice on is which brands run best. I just spoke to a local tyre dealer who quoted statements about budget this and Eco that and then no premium brands available. So taking that as not entirely true what is in use? Also is T rated the best I need - I suspect it is but again lack confidence in the answer supplied.
I will justify my question - the last tyres on the car where put on 30 years ago :)
Many thanks

I bought a cheap set for my mk2 on eBay and was so disappointed with the feel of the carpets I then bought a set of proper moulded carpets. The others will be sold at some point.

Hi
Having attempted to start my engine for the first time in 28 years I find my carbs are as fuel tight as a the sinking titanic. So I'm now planning to replace my carbs with a set of refurbished parts. The problem now comes with the nomenclature - I've seen references to the Stromberg carbs with CD150, CDS150 or CDSE150
My GT6 is a Mk2 1969 - does it matter which I get? What's the real difference between with regards to fittings?
Thanks again for your help -
That's good to see a pic RedRooster, many thanks - looks like I'll need to make the mounting bracket for the gearbox mount point as mine is broken.
Thanks to all who have replied -
I appear to have those covered, but have more mounting clamps. There was a broken bracket of some variety that may have come off the gearbox when I had it rebuilt.

Hi
I'm hoping some one may be able to help.
I have a 69 Mk2 which I'm restoring. Currently I'm fitting a Bell Full Sports exhaust system with the twin pipes in the centre of the car. The problem is that I don't know where all the mount brackets should be as the original exhaust kind of rotted off the car.
The bits I do know:
Twin strap mounts on the differential - fitted
End cans to rear of body - will be fitted when the body is reattached.
The unknowns:
Appears to be somewhere near the gearbox
Another pair of brackets appear to somewhere after the diff before the end cans.
Can anybody help please.
Many thanks
Frank

Can i ask where you mounted the unit in the engine bay. Having now read the manual (bought the fuel king) I'm not sure on the best place. They state between fuel pump and carbs which is a bit limiting.
Cheers
