  1. GLang, Thanks very much for responding, will test it once it's re-built. All the best Dan
  2. I've had a look and its difficult to tell, initially I only took out the sealing ring. So maybe its just this. Thanks for the response Much appreciated. Dan
  3. Hello everyone, I'm currently stripping, cleaning and servicing the above carburettor, I've laid everything out on my bench ensuring nothing goes amiss, however I appear to be missing the non return ball and for sure it never came out. I've double checked the pump jet pathway but cannot see it lodged in there, but I did notice that the pump jet had been crimped slightly. I've attached some photos so you can see the component so my question is? If indeed the ball is missing where do I get a replacement from? Has somebody in the past crimped the pump jet? or is this normal? Thanks everyone Regards Dan
  4. Thanks for the advice, appreciate your time. Will let you know how I get one.
  5. Hi All, In need of some product and method knowledge, Im in the process of restoring a Gerald 1200, I have removed the old fuel lines, currently servicing the carburettor, however the fuel tank is my concern at the moment, there was old fuel in the tank, not much but enough to promote rust. The pictures show the internal and the sediment I got out. My question is, what's the best products to use and the best method. Many thanks Dan

    Decoding VIN number

Good Morning boys and girls, I'm in need of some help, I purchased a 1963 Herald 1200 last year and I'm currently restoring it, but I noticed a two shades of grey on one of the chip and this got me thinking about the colour. I've done some digging and I understand that the GA is Herald 1200 and the DL is Saloon which checks out but I cannot fathom out the number, as I'm let to believe it should indicate base colour then shade and if there is a secondary colour and well my number on the VIN doesn't follow this logic. Mine is White over Grey, and the lady who I purchased it from advised it was Phantom grey, but I'm not sure. So my question is can I find out how my car left the factory as I would like it to be finished as per factory. Many thanks in Advance Dan
