I must admit, A tradiitional Scottish Fried Breakfast with Oatcakes and haggis added to the normal English Breakfast content is pretty damn good.. But then I also like the scotch pies that we have at Morrisons Garage so perhaps I just like me food... However I haven't tried that other Scottish Delicacy the Deep Fried mars bar yet :-)

  2. Hi,

Is there carbon offsetting with Climatecare again this time around?

If there is I want to put this on the virgin money giving site I'm setting up as some people can have an issue with the event not being very green.

Not that this worries me, I'm afraid I'm totally sceptical on climate change and think it's a conspiracy for green companies to make money!

(I'm now expecting a barrage of replies with eveidence that the ice caps are melting!)

  3. Try and Avoid gettig a 3 rivet friction plate, they tend to shear and leave you stranded. This can be trikcy as a lot of the new ones are now 3 rivet even some that are listed as OEM quality from reputable suppliers. If you can find one go for a NOS genuine Borg and Beck or Laycock 3 pice clutch kit.

  4. Agree with esxefi... (Paul)

I was recommended to use vaseline for holding bearing rollers in place when re-building a gearbox by a gearbox specialist due to the way it disolves and won't harm any bronze bushes etc, so with it's lubricating properties as well it ought to be good stuff for an engine rebuild.

  5. When I needed a new battery I measured the battery tray and went for the highest rated battery I could find at the cash and carry that had the right terminals and would fit the tray...

  6. Make sure you don't leave the tappets set at 8 thou though because if the valves aren't closing properly not only will you lose power but you'll risk burning the seats/valves. The 10 thou setting at cold is to allow for the expansion when the engine gets hot so if you set at at 8 thou cold there will be a 2 thou gap and when hot which will allow hot gassess to escape through the gap which will damage the valve and seats where they should be sealing.
