Hi Rosbif, I have read your posts with interest & my conclusions are:-
- Technically our classic cars don't meet the exclusion requirements for voiture de collection.
- In practice its unlikely that we will encounter any issues (unless we seriously upset a local member of the gandarmerie!)
I will not deliberately drive through environmental zones, but am reasonably relaxed that should I enter one by accident, there is unlikely to be a problem.
Cheers

The vote is already 20 to 0 for the coloured logo shirts so on a simple majority the coloured logo shirts have won.

Chris and I are finalizing the shirts the will be available to purchase by the C2C entrants & we have come up with two alternatives.
They will be Dark Blue in both cases, and we both prefer the shirts with the colored logos as these look better - you can see the two alternatives in the attached pictures. The single colour logo shirts would cost:-
T-Shirt £12.50 /shirt
Polo shirt £15.50/shirtThe multi colour logo shirts would cost:-
T-Shirt £14.50 /shirt
Polo shirt £17.50 /shirtDue to set up charge the shirts will either all be all single colour logo or multi colour logo shirts.
In view of the general cost of living increase in prices that we are all experiencing, which version do you prefer? Please let us know before Wednesday 8th May so we can post them for purchase on the CT shop before the end of the week.
Cheers

Most entrants and crew members will have already received my WhatsApp message welcoming them to the group, or an invitation to join.
Currently I have:-
6 invitations waiting response from the entrants/crew members
5 entrants (i.e. not crew) from teams 21, 24, 27, 30 & 35 who do not have WhatsApp accounts. In these five cases their crew does have a WhatsApp account so the team will need use the crew's phone to receive messages.
If you haven't received a WhatsApp message and want to join or update the number you are using please let me know asap.
Cheers

Try again with upload. See sheet 4 for details of the wiper circuit - as you can see the switch in the wiper drive motor provides continuous power to the motor except in the parked position (which is the position its shown on the drawing), consequently if this isn't working properly the wipers will continue to run forever...

David, pm me your email address and I will send it directly to you.

David,
Copy of my TR7 electrical drawings attached which was included sketch of wiper delay module which will help you.

David, pulling the 25a fuse should not stop the car starting but will effect a number of other circuits.
I suspect the problem is the park contact inside the wiper motor, but you can temporarily isolate the wipers by disconnecting either of the plugs from the wiper delay module found behind the instrument console. It's black plastic with two five pin connectors.

Colin,
Have a look at the TR Register site. They are advertising the 2025 event.

Speedograph did a great job for me making a small speedometer correction gearbox (The Rover 5 speed gearbox had been replaced with one from a Sherpa - identical except for the Speedo drive gear!)

My experience with TR7 steering is that if it's correctly set up power steering is unnecessary.
Lubrication with roller bearings at the top of the struts make a big difference.
Also I normally run modern 185 tyres with slightly higher tyres pressure - previously continental contipro 4 28/30psi & currently Falkens with 34/34psi.
The Falken pressure rating was from the manufacturer in writing after I gave them the front/rear axle weights.

When I checked Calais to Rouen was about two hours and with DFDS allowing out bound to Calais and back via Dunquerke on the same booking it was a no-brainer.

Hi Mike,
There is a cut off point - I think it's about £100 where duty kicks in but 50 No comes in nearer £1000. Singly or in bulk VAT is still applied to both the original price + shipping charges irrespective. There also will be a customs clearance charge from whoever undertakes the clearance - P.O. or courier to add.
It's possible you might be able to send them individually from Australia without additional charges due to the low individual cost, but that is a route I have not looked into.

Tim, just remember you need to pay VAT & possibly Duty as well on the supply price + shipping fees. I ordered an item for the USA and the final cost was (as expected) about twice the original purchase price.

We are booked on the Dover - Calais DFDS 10.40 departure on 2/9 & returning on the Dunkirk - Dover 16.00 departure on the 8/9.
Hope to see a few more 10CR cars on board.

I am looking to book our channel crossing and was interested to check what others are doing.
The prices I have come up with for departing / returning to Dover/Folkestone are shown below:-
Chunnel £289
Irish Ferries £175
DFDS (Calais outbound / Dunkirk inbound) £172
P&O £202
Currently its a toss up between DFDS & Irish Ferries

Is that the one you are trying to rehome?

The registration number UPB841 is not recognized by the DVLA and comes back "Vehicle details could not be found" so either it no longer exists or the number plate has been changed. Also entering it into google which recognises number plates, it does not come up with any pictures of the car.
