Hi Pete, CT pony express here lol
if you buy the one from Fitchetts, I can go and collect it on Saturday to save you postage cost and Darren can take it home with him and arrange to get it to you or we can bring it to the annual club dinner, depends how soon you need it x
You are a sweetheart, I have been in touch with Fitchetts and they don't list them.
I am assuming the one mentioned is a MK2 x

Many diesels use a fuel.cooler. I suspect that even brand new one would be cheaper than a bespoke one. See. https://www.google.com/search?q=diesel++fuel+cooler&client=ms-android-samsung-ss&sca_esv=40ad471a4e6b196f&sxsrf=ACQVn09YpETQIpC1nR2MqXVuL32RIUh5zQ%3A1707839126542&ei=lo7LZe7TILm2hbIP1-eSmAs&oq=diesel++fuel+cooler&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIhNkaWVzZWwgIGZ1ZWwgY29vbGVyMgsQABiABBiKBRiRAjIGEAAYBxgeMgYQABgHGB4yBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIEEAAYHjIEEAAYHjIEEAAYHkjASFDIDlixO3AAeACQAQCYAc0BoAHOEqoBBjAuMTQuMbgBA8gBAPgBAZgCDqAC8BHCAgkQABgHGB4YsAPCAg4QABiABBiKBRiGAxiwA8ICCxAAGIAEGKIEGLADwgILEAAYiQUYogQYsAPCAgcQIxiwAhgnwgIIEAAYBRgeGA3CAgsQABiABBiKBRiGA8ICCBAAGIAEGKIEwgIIEAAYiQUYogSYAwDiAwQYASBBiAYBkAYIkgcGMC4xMi4y&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp
Thanks John, The company I contacted won't make a bespoke one, only off the shelf.
The fuel cooler would be an option, but this is an immaculate MK1 pi and we would like to keep it original.
There is plenty in New Zealand as nearly all automatic MK1's had the oil cooler for the trans
Cheers Pete

Pete,
Mocal do some slim oil coolers.

Think Automotive distribute (possibly make them).
Based near Heathrow Airport
Many thanks for that link Tim. Looks like they will be able to make one similar if an original doesn't turn up soon.

As above, however needs to be a MK1 Trans cooler due to the tight space behind the grille and lower apron.
Many thanks

Use that site, put in all the correct parameters etc.
If unsure, top gear no overdrive is always one to one, so can remove the different OD options.
Thanks Clive, I think I must have been at max speed for going up a hill, I should really get this one on the dyno 🤣

Just a small question for the more technical minded.
What speed should your 2.5 be travelling at in 4th gear overdrive with a 3.45 diff, 25% higher ratio gearbox and rev-counter reading 4700rpm?
Reason for question is that I don't think my speedo is reading correctly with 195/60/14 tyres.
The needle was pointing at my left foot 🤣

Thanks guys, yes as I was already logged in on the lap top it wouldn't allow me to log on using the phone 🤪

I once tried that Classic brand of oil once in my 2000 and after my first run after the oil change the oil light came on first at idle then it would flicker at low speed in traffic. Needless to say I change the oil to 20/50 and never had another issue with the oil light after that.

Sounds happy to me….. Maybe can even manage above 20mpg?
Should be possible to get on the forum from a phone. I’m using mine to post this….
Nick
20mpg is average in most of my vehicles 🤣
My phone says when I try to log in that someone else already has these details, weird......

No it appears that I can't use my phone to log in 🥺

Oh it seems I have been locked out of the forum 🥺
If this reply works, thanks Nick.
1986 Fuel injected Rover Vitesse, stays below 1/2 on the temp gauge and rises to just above in heavy traffic, so sounds very reassuring 🙂

..........About an engine and after some very rich running I decided to remove the plugs from a RV8 and found what looks to me as either running far too lean or it is just right 🤔

I got a set off ebay

Sorted now, they are available everywhere 🙂

Does anyone know if you can buy longer than standard wheel studs for the big saloons?
I bought a set of Minilight fake wheels and 2 although identical have a much thicker centre which means I need studs that are at least 20mm longer.
Many thanks Pete

Automatic transmission oil cooler for a MK1 2000/2.5

Thanks Ian, I have no idea what that is off, home made it looks like. The only time I have seen similar is on the engine as part of the oil cooler.
A T Johnson, wow, they are still going.
Many thanks anyway Ian for the link.
