Find out the source of the stepping clutch action............Took ages to get the broken part out, had to drill a hole in the bottom of the bellhousing to drill out the bolt. Anyway new gaskets fitted and ready to refit. My list is getting shorter............5 out of 12 on the list done 😎

Love the flattering photos you take of me Sir 😲
Surely he hasn't received a knighthood whilst we've been away for our hols?!?!

New tie rod ends fitted 😆
New brake discs and pads fitted along with caliper pistons 😎
Best tip, make sure you change your brake fluid every 2 years or sooner if laid up where condensation is rife, and don't let your disc wear like this 😲

Interesting bit of work today. My Dolomite, the Flying Log developed a fault on the 2014 RBRR, the fuel gauge got stuck on half full on the Sunday morning resulting in us running out of petrol near Bridport in Dorset. Anyway we were lucky in that another crew had a can of petrol and we continued and finished. I changed out both the gauge and the sender after the run and the fault remained, eventually a couple of years later I traced it to a faulty tank, a tack weld holding the internal baffle had broken and the baffle had sprung into a position where it fouled the sender float. I did try and fix it with various levers etc but to no avail, I also tried modifying sender unit levers without success. So for 4 years I've done without a fuel gauge, however I managed to find a good 2nd hand tank earlier this year so swapped it out today. The result was a partial success, I found that the new tank is actually a Toledo one so is 2 gallons smaller and not so long so the rear mountings don't align. I managed to fit it with a couple of brackets though and I do at least have a working gauge again. I'll continue to try and find a decent Dolly tank in the longer term.
Don't worry I will still be carrying a spare can of petrol if needed. 😎
It will just make Cookie drive more economical.................😛

Thank you to everyone for an excellent weekend. Back home last night after just over 1100 miles in 6 days. The GT6 needs a good clean and I need a good rest!
Andrew, Nice of you to post a photo showing off my stomach!!!!!!!
Glad to hear you got home safely. We reached home on a recovery truck from south of Newark due to the Vitesse's water pump giving up on us. So that will be one problem found but I think there's still another one to be identified!
This one better Pete 😉

“Hope you don't want your seats back”
I couldn’t afford the fuel if I had that much extra weight added to the car!!!
We put him on the scales and he weighs in at 1465kgs without people 😲

New addition.........
Colin, keep your beady eyes off Rutty, no more than legal limit 😉
Do you need blue lights up it?
Hey that would be great.......They obviously got through the terrible experience of being launched off Pooh's roof during Rutty's driving then 😲

Never did get round to posting a picture of the gt6 but as I’ve now changed to doing it in the stag I’ll post my favourite picture of that from the 2016 run.
Hope you don't want your seats back Floyd..........

Another fantastic event from Club Triumph.
Janet and I thoroughly enjoyed the event last year and just had to do the event again in the 2dr seeing how I spent some time on it before the start this time, so it wouldn't break down again! Needless to say it played up on day one all the way around and after the finish on leg 1 I decided to change the condenser, only to discover the screw holding it in was not holding it in and the condenser was jumping about the distributor. Screw tightened and no more problems for the next leg.
Well done again to all the organisers and of course, all of us who entered, great group all round. 😎

To do, starting next weekend. 2 new engine mounts, new gearbox mount, new prop-shaft, and biggest job, remove the gearbox again and sort out why the clutch operates like a hand brake ratchet being pulled up when you depress the pedal 😲 don't do it with the engine not running.

Ready........😎

Ok I don`t think the Spitfire will be ready, so the 2000/V8 hire car will be the mode of transport..........So when I`ve finished my pint in Kelso......I will get the others lined up and ready for when the rest of the field arrives😉
That is most kind of you. Not the sort of offer one would expect from a Yorkshireman😉
Clive, he'll re-read what he just wrote and become a Yorkshire man again 😫

The 2dr is all sorted and ready, new condenser, (and spares) points, engine mounts and radiator......Don't ask!..........Alright I'll tell ya, brake test last week just to take all the rust off the disc's, car stops good, engine didn't 😲

Sounds great fun.
...........lots of things broke ISTR. Roads being shocking being the main reason
That will be easy to test, we've got roads here like that!!

Thanks Peter, I tried to pull the two panels together with self tappers, but there was still a gap.
The top is easy enough to drill and plugweld, yes i have a mig.
The sides will have to be tacked from the outside I suspect, and then a grinder to recreate the seam, unless anyone can tell me a better way? I find getting access to the seam from the inside is impossible.
It sounds like the panel isn't a good fit or a pattern part? When we have had ill fitting gaps, sometimes it calls for drastic action by means of a nut and bolt. If it is possible to drill through both panels and push a bolt through attach nut (with washer if needed) and tighten. Sometimes a slit on the new panel helps form a new shape. When gaps don't line up can mean there was a stress point around this area when the car was built and jigged up during assembly, once a panel is removed it can alter the shape of the reinforcing panel making realignment seem difficult and make you think the panel isn't right as well. All part of the panelbeaters world. Sometimes the challenge can be very challenging 😉

Pete perhaps I should get you to come over and fit the one I have had for past 6 months for Woodie .....!

I used to hillclimb a 1600 Vitesse in competition in the mid to late '70's and a 2.5 PI later on and good suspension set up and torque. Plenty of torque is the key ingredient. The Vitesse had the torque which matched the 2 litres cars up any hill. Though on the track it was lost a little, Horse power was needed, that's until the 2.5 PI came into my ownership. 😉

New bolt in Colin, Oh it's an up rated bolt too 😉
Still waiting for the new prop and gear box mount though. 🤔
