Hiya
I removed mine and I used a standard 6 sided socket out of my set. Leave the nut on a couple of threads as you tap the wheel off the shaft or you may end up wearing the steering wheel as it beaks free when you tap it.
1 1/16 " from memory so probably used my 27mm socket as I can't remember digging out my large imperial set.

But it is nowhere near as loud as the stupid Harley in the street

The 3 rivet {which are actually stop pins} are present on both clutches. The 16 rivets hold the individual 8 segments to the adapter plate, the clutch on the left is a monodisc driven plate with all 8 cushion ramps made out of one piece and is more expensive in tooling but quicker make especially assemble. They still have the same facing rivets that hold the facing to the segments or mono disc and they still have the same 3 stop pins holding the disc adapter and retaining plate together
Most of our monodisc tooling is now in the bin as production runs are too short. Most driven plates that were OE by ourselves are either made in Italy or India depending on the part number.
Ps the stop pins have 2 roles, one ,to hold the whole assembly together and two, to stop the rotation once the springs reach their design load.
I made a couple of plates for my Herald myself before the tooling was shipped out.

Probably very unfair. But not sure Halfords would be my first choice for an MOT!

On mine turning clockwise it comes to the end, the other way has a c clip on the threaded rod near the end, this stops it. If the c clip is missing as mine was it all falls apart, I learnt that the had way

if it has an lc number on it in white paint I may be able to up the finger height for you when it is clamped over the driven plate, ie bolted onto the flywheel assuming the drawings are still in the file if it helps. Dave

Hiya
A worn driven plate will make the fingers of the d/spring move upwards towards the gearbox, a worn fulcrum on the cast iron pressure plate sends them the other way, believe me I measure them every day
!00 miles me thinks it cannot be worn.I would check that the thrust bearing has little pressure on the fingers in its released condition ensuring the master cylinder is returned condition to its
