  1. Are you bolting on the timing cover when you get the block faced and having that done at the same time, there will be a step in the head gasket if you don't.

  2. I would think an electrical fault as it should't be able to engage in 2nd due to the inhibitor switch, I would suspect the inhibitor switch is sticking.

Or on other words what mad mart suggested :-)

  3. A friend of mine has had a real work of art custom made for his stag, all 2" with an "X" pipe type crossover and straight through boxes, wasn't cheep though

  4. Andy they are 2 sets of tr7 California spec manifolds that have been adapted to fit the v8.you can still get some if you search for long enough in fact I know of at least 3 single manifold that were for sale recently but they were asking big money.

  5. Mike ,iI have a Wideband sensor fitted to my carb set up and its very useful ,I thought that bit of my efi was sorted until i realised the controler didnt have a datalog output for the ecu so i had to shell out for another one that did.
My setup so far for my unfinished efi has Bosch 3 19lb injectors,MS2 ecu,LS2 COP's,twin throttle body off a omega.

  6. Would be a lot harder to try and do it in situ as the back mounting plate bolts to the rear diff cover ,can't see it being doable without removing the diff but i might be wrong. If you have a leak try making sure the breather is clear first by wiggaling the pin sticking out of it.

What are the part Nos/model detail for the BMW M/C and servo?

    Thanks again

Mine is from an E35 which i bought after getting details from someone who has fitted that exact servo in his stag.

  8. That brill Mike thanks,i already have the bmw servo and M/C sitting in my shed.I know of a few fitted to autos but you are the first i know off to fit it to a manual and was wondering if it was easily do-able,doesn't sound too bad.

If you are after a stag master cylinder I have one in my pile of bits that you are welcome to, drop me a pm with your address and Ill stick it in the post. It was working Ok when removed - I fitted a bmw servo and master cylinder to my stag - reduces the pedal effort for Anne.

Mike did you have to move the clutch M/C over to fit the bmw servo in?

  10. [quote=699]I've been acquiring parts after being inspired by flying Neil....  also been browsing his thread over on the SOC forum in regards to this.

First pic:  Arrow points to thing under throttle body.  Hose connects it to manifold coolant passage.  What is it and what does it do?

I'm sure Neil will put me straight but looking at the one I had a while back I think it was a manifold heater ,Just an in and out to a chamber under the manifold for coolant to warm it up.

    Cheers Steve
