  1. They are ready to go now if you are interested in them - I will check the part numbers that show - the floor pan stayed the same throughout the build and I believe that the pile is early type, but could not swear to it.

  2. Hmm, thought I had replied. Anyway, I have a set bought from John Kipping back in the day, which I recall were for the US Spitfire. If of any interest i will drag out and try and get a photo - I know they are in bags not a Stanpart box. But a lot of teh stuff I got from JK 30 years ago is like that. I found a Spit carpet set last weekend still in the factory bags, so will have to get rid of that as well.

  3. My seats are Mk3 and I believe he does not do them - only the later seats.

And the metal frames on mine are looking sorry, so this is clearly going to be an ongoing saga of misery until they end up looking lovely again. Sigh...

But I will contact him and see if he restores the frames as well and will update on progress.

  4. Sorry Iain, it was just a small classified style ad in PC within the TSSC larger ad section. And it caught my eye as it seems to be around 1/3rd of the price of Newton in leather, which is obviously attractive, but I am always wary of the "you get what you pay for" adage.

  5. Thanks for the replies guys. Park Lane, sadly, do not do Mk3, so I may well end up going the local upholsterer route.

Unfortunately, on uncovering the back of the driver's seat, I have found a very bent and broken shell, so first thing will be to get that patched up and straightened. Even the "x-pressing" ribs are buckled and torn. No idfea what the owner did to them - the passenger's is fine. Looking on eBay I see they occassionally surface so I shall keep my eyes open as well.

    Thanks

  6. I am looking to recover/refurb my low back Mk3 seats, preferably in leather, and only seem to find two suppliers - Newtons for the foams, and Gabbat & Brown for leather covers plus "refurb" kit.

Does anyone have any alternative suggestions, or experiences of the available replacement covers etc please. Looking at Rimmers, it looks like I could soend £25 just buying 50 edge clips, etc.

    Many thanks

  7. There is a book on originality - I have a copy somewhere if you are interested. Forget who it's by now - John T (TSSC maybe)? Been a while since I have looked at it, but recall it having lots of nice colour piccies. SOmeone else may have suitable links for you
