  1. Running into a few sna gs with the RV8 conversion....... Currently have the ps pump shown below. Think its from a Range Rover Classic (part ref ANR2003?) Question is where do this fit and what front pulley can I be added to run the pump of the crank. Currently have a standard (single) crank pulley from a P5B / P6 and want seperate belts for water pump/alt and power steering. What set up do others use? Is there another option? Cheers for any info and some pictures of set ups would be really helpful. Many thanks, Matt
  2. Running into some minor snags with the RV8 conversion. Sorry if this has been asked a million times before! The alternator arrangement I have is way too tall for bonnet clearance (I dont want a bonnet bulge!). Current set up shown below. What's the best options for alternator type to hook up the Stag electrics and which bracket works best? Cheers for any info and some pictures of other owners set up would be great. Many thanks, Matt
  3. Thanks Nick! She's French Blue - it's just the lighting making it look darker. I bought lowered springs from Chris Witor so hopefully the ride height should be OK with the RV8. Fingers crossed  :)
  4. Hi No the Stag isn't back on the road yet but is getting very close. Tim @ Willow Triumph has been very busy and made decent progess the last few months (especially now all the welding is done and the horror stories are behind us!). I'll post a pic or 2 Cheers!
  5. Thanks for all your comments. Everything is now new or reconditioned inc servo but all standard apart from Earls braided hoses and Ferodo pads. Hopefully should be good enough  :)
  6. Thanks for the feedback - I'll have a look. Cheers, :)
  7. Thanks for your replies. There are 2 (yes 2!) LH calipers fitted so I may have to pay the surcharge on any refurb'd calipers. Good to know the standard set-up can be made to made with some modest / sensible upgrades. Cheers! :)
  8. I need to order tyres for the Stag...... Running the standard steel wheels (14'' I assume). Whats the general opinion on the best size and make to suit the Stag. Cheers for any advice and sorry if this has been posted 1000times already!! Cheers, :)
  9. Hello again! Its time to order some front brakes for the stag..... What are you guys using and what works well? - i'd like to hear from a few different people. My front discs and calipers are only fit for the scrap pile so I need to order new stuff. The rear end is rebuilt as stock with new shoes plus braided hoses. Is a standard solid disc with branded pads (EBC, ferrodo, mintex etc) and braided hoses really up to modern traffic and  day - to day driving? Not talking track day use but will be travelling with kids in the back and no doubt a boot full of crap. The budget is spread very thin now but if the upgrade kits are really worth it i'll take another look (wilwood, monarch 4 pot....) Any feedback (good or bad) appreciated. Cheers, :)
  10. The 2 nut and windy gun method worked for me Cut some lengths of conduit and siliconed onto the head - Filled with plusgas and left well alone to do other jobs for a few weeks before attempting again. Definately a job to keep calm and take your time with  :)  :)
  11. Dealer - eh no its worse than that - a family member  ??) The old girl has been stood on blocks since the late 80's after the engine blew. Just before that time she had had a so called "restoration". This appears to have consisted of covering all the rot with bodge and thick layers of underseal and a half decent spray job to hide it all. To make matters worse the engine and box went off to Rimmers and never came back. So I've lost the matching numbered engine which is a real shame as I've known the car a long time (since its 2nd owner).   This is why I'm going the RV8 route to get things started. I do have a TV8 but it is incomplete and looks like it needs stripping down and rebuilding. Thats the long-long-term project as I would eventually like an orginal engine!! Cheers!
