  1. Ignition done, what a difference :), From now on it will be the first thing I recommend to any body messing with points and condenser.  Best £35 spent so far.  Thanks Guys for your assistance.  I am about to post the next challenge your experience and knowledge needed. Regards Tony
  2. Thanks for your help.  Standards coil it is.  I will change the coil for like for like and then see how I get on with a new electronic dizzy.  Heres hoping the change in ignition will mean everything else runs perfectly, as the wipers packed up yesterday ;D.
  3. Thanks Bob, did you have to change the coil as well?  I have been looking at the dizzy sets and they are about £35, a new dizzy set up is £52 so the extra I think is worth it.  But I am not sure whether to uprate the coil or whether, I am going over the top.   Good luck with the engine rebuild, my experience so far is they don't seem to like sitting around things have been dropping off and breaking down at an alarming rate. so I am slowly changing bits on a weekly basis working from the front backwards.
  4. Next in line, is the ignition.  I am now on the prowl to change the ignition and move away from the points system.  Has any one any views about the best way to achieve this on a limited budget.  Have already had to sort out the starter motor and the flanges etc (as stated in my previous post)  I am conscious that I will end up divorced if I try and spend a load more this month. :P  Could i get away with just changing the dizzy insides????
