  1. Hello, I thought it was a long shot, but thanks very much for getting back to me. Steve
  2. John, I did see this one, and was quite keen until I saw that it was the Isle of Wight! - That's a 2-day round trip for me! Also, I'd hate to strip down a potentially salvageable car just for my needs. I've spent so many years saving cars of various marques from the grasping hands of the scrap-man, without wishing to add to the body count now! I have this idea that I can transform somebody's pile of unwanted parts into a living, breathing car again without any collateral damage! Also, I have no objection to having to do full rebuilds on any bits and pieces I get, so am happy to consider items people have otherwise consigned to their own personal 'scrap' piles! I'm not needing an engine and gearbox as I plan (hope) to insert the parts from a terminally rusty Mercedes E240 and create something a bit different. (A 'Tricedes' or a 'Merumph' perhaps?). Going with an original chassis, suspension, hubs, steering etc is just enough to allow me to keep Mr DVLA happy and therefore retain the original reg and its Tax/MOT free status too. All the best, Steve
  3. I've just sourced a decent bare chassis for a 1500 Spittie (1972), and was wanting to build up the running gear to start with (I have mad ideas of making some form of 'special' with Triumph-based hubs, brakes, suspension and steering). Any possible basket case cars out there with dissolved chassis and bodies which might be used as a donor? I'm prepared to build this chassis up one corner at a time if need be, so anything you might have I'd love to hear about! Regards, Steve Ooops, forgot to mention. I'm in Scottish Borders (TD7), but happy to collect or arrange/pay for shipping when and as required.
  4. Amy, I'm probably late to the 'party', but wondered if you had any running gear parts from this Spittie? By that I mean suspension and steering parts and not engine/gearbox. I have just bought a decent 1500 (1972) bare chassis, and want to start to build it up as the basis for a 'special', so could use any bits which help it 'roll'! Cheers, Steve Bonner
