where did you get yours done James?
-
sadly A539 are not made anymore so unless you find old stock your choice may already be made!
great summer/wet tyre though, but no good in snow! -
Old stuff will be brittle, it will also differ in colour/shade from what you have as they all fade with age & weather to different degrees. I may have a small bit too, let me know if no-one closer to you comes up with it.
The whole lot is missing on the front and rear screens in the GT6 so I need to source some new. When I get around to doing that, I may possibly have a new lump left over.
Rgds

I'm guessing its an out of stock item - leaving it "avail" at a price no-one wants to pay saves the trader the bother of re-listing :-/

Thanks
I can accept that things can go wrong from time to time.....But the real test is how people/businesses react (or don't) when things do go wrong
surprised - first bad feedback I have ever heard about Mike & his work? . . . . . . . . . . :-/ -
CRAJ wrote:I have a 4.11 diff from a mk1 which I would like to try in the pi for trackdays, is it simply a case of changing the backplate for a mk2 saloon one and bolting it in?
Has anyone (out of interest) run a pi with a 4.11?
Colin.
I think Doug Foreman (DGF) has a 4:11 in his mk1 2000 (fitted with 2.5 lump?) -

The term "new old stock" has nothing to do with oe [original equipment] .
In my humble opinion.
to me NOS has always meant new, unused Stanpart or Unipart parts, anything else is aftermarket or non original :-/ -
no idea on ratios but I believe the Mk1 PI servo has the greatest assistance of the lot!
-
pretty sure Kas Kastner had one out there? Or possibly it was a 250 . . .
-
always better to over insure a little rather than under!
which one in particular were you thinking of? :-) -
I insure my projects at "condition 3" values, maybe a little more if the new panels etc are in the boot!

thought it looked familiar!
Costco prices are usually pretty keen but you are limited to Michelin (and more recently one other big brand that I can't remember!) -
got a pair of CD125's on an alexander manifold for a 1200 herald stashed somewhere I think :)
-
I'm reading the original question a little differently. I think that the OP is asking what needs to be done to upgrade his Tr4 4-pot to a 6-pot - not recreate a TR5? :-/
-
nut and all :)

I've often wondered about that. the Stag/Saloon is less of a problem as the slave can be accessed from underneath - without a jack if you park on a kerb!
I was thinking of the Dolly, which is high up on the gearbox like the Spit/GT6 but totally inaccesible without removing the tunnel - which is a mare of a job.
I had already contemplated making up a brake pipe and taking it though the side of the tunnel to somewhere under the dash, so you could pump and bleed from the same place, but have not worked out how to get around piping from a rubber mounted vibrating unit (engine/box) to a fixed hole in the tunnel and solid termination somewhere on the body. Small flexi pipe or similar required I think!
A pipe up to the head or similar would work well but you would still need an easi bleed or assistant to pump! -
well said Jim :)

spit 1500 will fit your dolly

I'm sure that I have some TR7 springs stashed somewhere that are beehived . . . . -
Danbury Auto electics is the one Mike is referring to I think, I use Richard at Starternator Services in Tiptree - old school chap working from a big shed in his back garden!
