  1. On the front studs you might need to grind a flat on the heads of the M12 studs you will see why when you come to do it. On the rear you "might" either have to remove hubs or cheat and drill a hole in each brake backplate. On my roto Gt6 I drilled said holes but on the Sixfire I did not need to.

  2. Get an axuiluary charging relay. It is made for this purpose, charges van battery as priority then charges auxiluary battery, used for caravans. Should be available from motor factors, auto electricians and caravan dealerships / repairers, will come with wiring diagram.

or do I try to work the swing spring itself with the roto/CV hubs.

You can make a swing spring over rotoflex work very well indeed.

I use this arangement. You will need to build a hybrid spring tho, a swing spring with roto main leaf, too much neg camber otherwise. Also if using rotoflex coupleings you will also need to remove the outer clamp brackets.

And as far as I know you can use your Konis with the Bowler Jones Conversion. Though I do remember being wrong once before.

If you are planning on selling the car, then yes Wheeler Dealers were right. The average punter looking for a cheapish first time classic will be caught by things like this.

As has been said, watch for excessive seat wear, you'll easily notice it as you find yourself constantly tightening the tappets.

First off I would not trust a word that moron Mike Brewer said.
If you go to buy a classic car can you really trust that the unleaded conversion has actually been done ? On the other hand if seller says it has not been done you can take that to the bank.

With valve seat recession you LOOSEN the tappets.

Really? .. ah well, I guess everyone has their own preferences when it comes to these things, not a biggy to flog the webber as its new and get some SU's I'm sure, perhaps at this rate he would be best breaking it and selling the bits n bobs.

Usually when a single DCOE is used on a Spit it is a 45.
Ideal weber setup is twin 40's tho twin 45's have been done.

Little update on this and some extra info.

Got bored waiting for a dry day so I could fit these to the PI so thought I'd see if they fit the Vitesse (uses same bearings) - and they do 🙂

Took about 30 mins to do one side, but now I've got the hang of it I reckon the next one will take about 20.

So these spacers should be good for 2000/2500 saloon and estate, Stag, Vitesse 2L & Mk2 and all GT6.

Best order some more for the car I actually bought the first lot for!

    Cheers

    Nick

Hope you are right Nick. Just ordered a set of saloon ones intended for Gt6 then I noticed he has kits listed for Gt6 Vitesse.
ANYWAY, If they need machined so be it that's what I have the lathe for.

Nope that`s the wrong one , too high , will hit the bonnet
    Try Fitchetts
Also the old Land Rover will fit

    Correct.

To make that cylinder fit you need a 1500 spit single circuit plastic reservoir.

  8. Was just wondering last night. Is there enough throttle spindle potruding at the end to cut a notch to drive a throttle pot ? If not they will be next to useless as they are, with the original big butterflies.
