    Boot Hinges

Hi everyone, I need to replace my boot hinges (13/60 convertible), but have read a lot of bad feedback , can anyone recommend the best make to buy?
  4. It is slightly too wide ,I used a wooden wedge and carefully widened the gap until it was free.

  6. Hi all,  I'm repairing the area under the headlights on my 13/60 , both sidelights/indicators were completely rusty and I'm replacing most of the metal around those areas , my question is - were the sidelight fittings angled back slightly , I've drawn a quick diagram to explain what I mean, at the moment mine are as in drawing B . but looking at several pictures of Heralds the do look to be angled back  as in drawing A . Can anybody confirm this for me  -  Thanks
  7. I had the same problem,  ended up Googling images of Herald chassis and engines and from all the different pictures managed to work out which route they go  -  and used the canley drawing as well.

  9. Yes thats a good point, I have temporarily connected an earth strap from the bell housing to the bulkhead , maybe it's not connected as well as I had thought - Thanks for that I will check it tomorrow.
  10. Hi everybody, got an electrical problem and hoping someone out there may be able to help   -    I've been restoring my 13/60 convertible for the last two years (body off) and decided to give the engine a run,I can turn the engine over by hand  and have connected a fully charged battery, the bulkhead is on but there s no dashboard fitted yet but the ignition light comes on when I turn the key ,  when I try to start the engine I can hear a rapid clicking ( solenoid i think) then the ignition light goes out and the cllcking stops (engine does not turn over) if I try to restart there is nothing  -  checked fuse and its OK  - If i wait a while the ignition light will come back on?  any ideas
  11. Managed to get under the car and take a photo - this is how mine now looks , hope it helps.
  12. hi , I've just done this work on my 13/60 it's very tricky under the A post area as there is a small step up just after the second mounting bracket and also an incut for door clearance - took me ages to get it right!
  13. Hi chris, I had a similar problem last year, where my starter motor turned over very slowly even on a fully charged battery. Eventually found out that the insulator around the positive terminal on the motor ( where it goes through the motor casing)  had cracked, so every time I turned it over it was shorting straight to chassis.
