  1. Hi,

I've a Mk3 Spitfire d-type o/d gearbox and it's missing the inhibitor cam (133771) and bracket (13370).  I can get the bracket from Rimmers at a whopping 20pound but can't find an inhibitor cam (133771) anywhere.  Seems to be the same as used on GT6/Vitesse.  Canley's have suggested I use the later inhibitor cam from a MkIV/1500 (158772) and modify the back a little to get first gear but at 14pound would prefer the original and 'know' it'll work.  I've tried Spitfire g.yard - no luck, Wins - no luck, TRGB - no luck, Waiting  to hear back from Chic Doig and Quiller.  Jigsaw Racing may be able to help and I'm waiting to hear back.

If anyone has either or both spare or can suggest somewhere else to try I'd appreciate it.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  2. You don't need to use Freelander nuts - can choose open/closed and a whole wide range is now an option.  I just popped down to a car wreckers and picked up a closed set that matched.  Later on I'll get a nicer set.  Paul

  3. It's basically a straight swap on the front hubs - on the rear hubs rather than remove the hub I drilled an approx. .5" hole in the backplate in line to slide a stud through, then rotates the hub for the next etc. A bit of overkill but I also used Loctie, put the wheel on and tightened to get them well seated.  The used a rubber grommet to seal the hole - job done.

  4. After talking to my trimmer it's important you get the 'right' leather for the shape/style of seat as needs to be quite soft and flexible whereas most are more for bench seats etc.

  5. Another possible option that I'm looking at is - take in the gearbox cover in to an auto trimmer for them to make up that section only and at the same time buy carpet enough carpet off the same roll to cut out the rest then take back for them to bind the edges.

  6. Hi,

They'll pop the unit into your mechanical drive distributor:

Can e-mail the company for a price for a 'tune' version.
