Firstly you need to jack the rear of the car up and support it on axle stands or similar. You'll need to remove the rear wheels.

I just ordered this kit from Canley Nick, when you say use axle stands do you mean on the suspension or car body, what I mean is the diff and spring just hanging or supported?

Just a guess based on 35 years in the In Car Entertainment business!!

I think 'yes' they are different! As somewhere in the back of my mind I remember people didn't like the modified (by supplier) 13/60 front wings when there were no Vitesse one's available. I think they welded a small V somewhere around the front curve.

I am sure someone will be along with the definitive answer in a while.

If it takes as long as my resto, then take digital photo's of every component and label every single part, you will be amazed how many bits you can't remember which way up they go or the exact location.

Cleaning carbs and I thought being careful not to lose any parts yet I find I have lost the bushing from the top of the jet its part 56 on the carb diagram in the manual (see below) anyone got an old jet knocking about that I can have this part off?

Norm try here...you need a tape that is not very wide  15/20mm and thin, not the foam filled type it should be selotape thickness.

A couple of tips from me.
Do it with the roof off
Get plenty of bulldog clips
Use double sided tape rather than try to glue the edges, especially if you are going to leave the roof on or the glass still in situ.

I used these also, I got them from Frost restoration, the one thing I would say is that when I first tried them I clamped up the pipe and then twisted the pliers to make a bend, all this did was make some ridges on the pipe that looked rubbish.

You should clamp up the pipe holding it square and then bend the pipe around the tool, it then works well.

Check it or adjust it though?

Just ordered the above along with a sport coil, do you have to adjust the timing after fitting?

No tools really needed but a rubber mallet is a good helper, you can just 'slap/thump' it on but it helps to use a mallet at the sharp bends just to make sure its right the way on. If you haven't a mallet try a rolling pin!!
