  1. I have a 1969 Triumph Herald. I had to take the ignition switch off for other repairs and when looking to put it back referred to the wiring diagram and that is where I became confused. I have a brown wire. I have the correct wires too [red/white in 1, white in 2 and blue/brown in 3. I don't want to mess things up by trial and error so have put the brown in 4. Without it the car will not run. With it the car continues to run when switch is switched to off. Can any one help. It worked OK before. And you smart arses don't need to say I should have made a diagram or took a photo - I know that now. Cheers
  2. I need help! I have a bitsa Triumph Herald with a 1300 Spit engine in. Now, it went into my garage to sit out the winter and was perfectly fine but when I tried to fire it up it was not getting fuel to the engine. I inspected this and got to the point where fuel is in the line but the mechanical pump will not work. I bought a new one - same problem. Strangely I can hand operate the pump off of the engine and pumps fuel from tank to carb. So I am thinking that the cam in the engine is not operating the pump but how can that happen over winter. I am at a loss.
