  1. What lights do you recommend for the rally look? I'm thinking of a 4 light setup. What is the usual setup? spotlights and driving lights? or fogs instead of spots and how big? The old pics show pretty bulky looking lights, but thats cool. What have you put on? Where did you get them? Thanks Troy

    Wheels

These wheels look great I think. Are they 15s or 16s? I have 16s x 8 on the back of this car im working on : Bit of dish on the back. They are Simmons.

    Wheels

Looks like an awesome car! Are they 10 inch wide on the back?! Keep it like that I reckon! Did you get any other wheels? Photos?
  4. The good thing was after I cut it I could bend the inside panel to the outside panel and weld it rather than having to add any more metal. I left the inside long enough to do that luckily! I have 225 50 16s on it at the moment, they are 8 inch rims. I may just stay with that as this size is easily obtained in semi slicks etc. Wouldnt mind a bit wider like 245 45 16s. Will see whats around. I plan to move the wheels out around an inch to 2 inches.
  5. Heres my process! ...yep, well seems to be working ok in the end! :-) Should be enough travel room for the tyres when pushed out wider!
  6. heres my car with taped on flares! I have angle grind cutting discs and a jigsaw. That should do the trick! Then I have a mig welder to weld in some panel inside the wheel arch! How long will that take me to do all 4 I wonder!
  7. Hi there, I bought some fiberglass rally wheel arches from Robsport :-) Now it seems that the front ones would just bolt to the side of the front flares. I could cut/roll the inside lip of the guard to move the tyres out a little? The back ones seem to go over the top of the metal flare thats already there. Now the thing is, am I meant to remove a few inches of metal from that flare? and the inside of the wheel arch? I'm thinking so... I am wanting to move the wheels out about 2 inches either side but still have the back low. and with travel that would put the wheels under the flares. Anyone done it? Any pictures anyone can locate? Thanks for your help!
  8. I see on another with a 3.9 v8 with factory computer, it looks like they have removed the heater pipework from firewall, and put the wiring through that large hole.
  9. Thanks Beans for the pics! Had a look, and I dont think poking them through individually is an option! Too many wires to mess up! I think it may be that I have to make another larger hole in the firewall, or obtain a nice box that I could put in place of the battery as a wire/computer/relays box and put the battery in the boot (which I was considering anyway). Has anyone used a box for this? hmm, sounds like a good idea to me! Should look neat if done well.
  10. Hi, the supra bellhousing and other clutch parts are from http://www.dellowconversions.com.au/ I will just leave it as is for the moment, as apparently in Oz we got a 3.63:1 with the 5 speed box. With the gearbox ratios, it looks pretty good to me. IE, my engine is meant to rev to 6500, so 1st 60kmh, 2nd 104kmh, 3rd 154kmh, 4th 197kmh, 5th 251km/h. My gearbox is pretty modern from a real supra, that is not an 80s one! Of course I would like an LSD, which I will get later on hopefully and a ratio similar to this would be good I suppose.
  11. :-/ Hi there, I think this is my first post? I am in Geelong Australia. Anyway, I have a TR7 and have stuck in a 3.9 v8 with a supra 5 speed gearbox and am up to the wiring stage! First question is, where/how do I get the wires with big computer connection through the "small" holes in the firewall to connect the computer up inside the glovebox? I'll leave it at that for tonight! But If I post a few other wiring questions in the near future with photos, maybe I could get some tips! I think I will need a few! Thanks! I CANT wait to get it going! Troy
