  1. Hi all, Sorry, I haven't been on the forum for a few months as seconded back to the Middle East for work at short notice. Now home and looking forward to carrying on with the resto. Still after Triumph 1300 FWD inner and outer sills, boot floor, rear wing offside. Any help greatly appreciated. Dave
  2. Hi Mike, Have just sent you a PM mate. YES I am definitely still interested!!!
  3. Hi Mike, Have just sent you a PM mate. YES I am definitely still interested!!!
  4. Thanks for the info DaveKent, appreciated matey.
  5. Thanks Jonny-jimbo, appreciated matey.
  6. Thanks mate for looking and the advice on the Dolomite wing.
  7. Hi Guys, I may have sourced a NOS Triumph Dolomite offside inner wing for my 1300 FWD. My question is will it fit? I have compared the NOS 1300 nearside inner wing I already have and all looks good, the holes are all in the right places etc... But the front end of the Dolomite wing is obviously different which I understand. I think with a little fettling it can be done, but are there any problems in fitment, I haven't identified though?? Thanks again.
  8. Hi Guys, Front and rear suspension units now dropped and ready for degrease, strip, paint and rebuild. I have also just managed to obtain a NOS front inner wing to go with the NOS outer wing!! (Nearside) Anybody got any NOS parts for a 1300 FWD, I am your man. Especially looking for offside inner wing, boot floor, sills. Many thanks.
  9. Front offside suspension dropped and the horrors of the inner wing and sill are exposed. Picture 2 shows after cutting out the visible rot, the inner sill has gone also!!! Great 😲
  10. Many thanks guys, your assistance and help is greatly appreciated. 🙂
  11. Hi Mikeyb, No great rush mate, I am in East Sussex now, but I see you are in Maldon. I used to be the Crime Reduction Officer with Essex Police based at the Nick in Maldon, so I know the area well and I am currently moving from Essex to Sussex. Just give me a nod when you are ready mate. Jonny Jimbo, thanks for your message and yes, if the NOS floor panel is still available and willing to be purchased, I would love to buy it. That man, thanks matey, I will give the Dolomite Club a look. Thanks guys.
  12. Hi Mikeyb, That would be wonderful if the inner wing you have is surplus to requirements! I would be more than interested in buying it from you. Please PM me if this is possible. Many thanks Dave
  13. Engine and gearbox now removed. A tidy up of the engine bay has revealed a lot more problematic areas that require welding. A long and busy week for me I think.
  14. Hi Guys, As you can see the offside front wing has now been cut off and the extent of the corrosion revealed underneath!! Oh my God, my MIG welder will be in overdrive this month!! My screwdriver went through quite a lot of the metal work, but I have seen much worse. I have a brand new wing to fit and have just managed to find another NOS nearside wing, so I will replace the pair as a matter of course. More to follow:
  15. Hi Jonny, No mate, I bought her from a guy in Suffolk. He is posting the documentation onto me in the next day or so, I will be able to find out then if he originally got it from Coventry or not.
  16. Thanks Mikeyb, The headlamp cowls were in really good order, thankfully. I will make a repair section to weld to the rather thin inner wing surround, which will give it some strength and ensure the new wing bolts tightly to it. I have just secured another brand new offside wing as well, so I will replace the other side as a matter of course.
  17. Removed the headlamp cowlings and found the inner wing of the drivers side to be quite poor as you can see. Thank God for the new wing I already have. Front bumper and over riders removed and metal work cleaned up. Rot wing, Engine and gearbox removal next.
  18. Hi all, Can anybody enlighten me as to how to remove the door check straps from the doors of a 1300 FWD?? I need to remove the doors for restoration, but cannot for the life of me work out how to get them off. Thanks guys.
  19. Hi all, Can anybody enlighten me as to how to remove the door check straps from the doors of a 1300 FWD?? I need to remove the doors for restoration, but cannot for the life of me work out how to get them off. Thanks guys.
  20. Rear bumper removed and the boot floor tidied up. Wiring loom labelled and pulled through the rear of the car. Head lamps removed and radiator.
  21. Thanks Garfin, I have two 1966 1300's on D plates. My other one is pretty much all ok, just needs some light restoration work for the summer. Dave
  22. The nasty rot in the chassis member!! And about 500 nutshells were discovered in the section, thanks to a kindly squirrel!! The front right wing is also shot, but a new one was supplied with the car, Happy days!!
  23. Bonnet removed. Apart from the usual wildlife making a break for freedom over my garage floor, the engine fired up after some fresh fuel and a new battery was fitted. I did notice a very nasty rotted out area of the chassis which will require some urgent assessment when I have removed the engine and road wheels.
  24. Upon careful removal of the rather sodden carpet with associated mushrooms, spiders, snails and other field wildlife, I discovered that the floor pan was very solid and actually better than my other car!! As you can see from the photos, the left (Passenger) sill has rotted through at the A post and there is some daylight through the bulkhead behind the foot pedals. I have removed the windscreen and rear screen, the headlining and all the seats now. Bonnet removal and engine assessment is next. More to follow:
