  1. Yea was going to have the wheels done by an expert but thanks for the powder coating tip that could come in handy when I get them done. Yea I thought the smell was going to be horrible but was advised that rust would be a thing of the past with that trick. Next weeks job then is a good old wax oil session. Let's hope the horrible gritters stay away till she's in bed and wax oiled for winter
  2. Hi all good evening I've just had my old girl resprayed and she looks fantastic the only thing that let her down now is the old wheels but they can wait till next year as I'm skint now. My question is how long would you wait before wax oiling the car after the spray job. The guy at the spray shop said the 2 pack paint should be hard enough now but it's only been painted 3 days ago. I'm a little worried I might ruin the paint if I do it this early. Further to this I've been advised when I do wax oil the to mix it with EP90 gear oil and diesel any thoughts on that? Many thanks
  3. Hi Jon It's Jamie the guy who had the seat belt plug off you. My car has a stainless exhaust so your more then welcome to have a nose and see how they did mine
  4. Not sure but must have worked before it split. I've ordered a new one and gasket from Sweden so will let you know if it works
  5. After striping it down and taking all the bits off we have found the problem. It was a 5mm rubber gasket made by Volvo that had cracked and was letting the oil spew out. I have attached the eBay page if your interested Look at this on eBay: 463391, Spacer, Volvo Penta http://bit.ly/ZSRMX0
  6. Nice one will give it a try. It looks like pervious owner had been there before making a right old mess. Thanks again for your help ;)
  7. Had the fuel pump off today and its not the pump its the gaskets. Can anyone help me with a link or a site I can order these from as the oil leak is fairly major
  8. Cool thanks for your help. The old girl is going in next Friday for the dreaded MOT so fingers crossed she will be ok. Once she has her full mot then it's time for a lovely bath in wax oil.
  9. Yea that is an option would have liked to get a new part as my plan is to revamp the old girl. Also needed is the drivers side seat belt plug as the spring has come out of mine if anyone has one of these.
  10. Hi this weekend I have managed to buy myself a lovely 1983 Acclaim :) On getting the old girl home I have spotted an oil leak and it looks like its coming from the fuel pump. I can't locate a new one can anyone help Many thanks Jamie
