  1. Hi, Spitfire MKIV. I'm looking at replacing my mild steel system with a new stainless one. I have no interest in a noisy straight through system. However aesthetically I like the look of the twin tailpipe standard back box as fitted to GT6's. What are the thoughts of fitting one of these to an otherwise bog standard 1300 engine. Would it upset the running? I know you can get a so called semi sports system with twin tail pipes for the MKIV, any one know if these are particularly noisy? Thanks
  2. I've met David and very nice chap he is, he actually lives nearer Haworth than Keighley and yes I agree with every body it would be lovely if someone could reach out and help a fellow enthusiast in his hour of need. Sadly I'm also about a 100 miles away otherwise I would be there.

  5. Hi guys, Reading on the 10 countries thread about a problem with repatriation in regards to the costs exceeding the vehicle value. What do the recovery firms use as a basis for the vehicle value? Does a club valuation certificate trump there own values? Any recommendations for who to use for European recovery?
  6. Hi Guys, RDB 890M aka Ruby is a 1974 Spitfire MKIV with an almost complete detailed history file. There is a missing part though, between 2005 and 2013 it was owned by The Alfred James Motor Company of Stockport, during this period it had some decommissioning/ restorative work carried out but other than 30 odd miles to the MOT station each year it never did any miles. However no details of what was done to the vehicle during this time exists, attempts to contact Alfred James at the last known address have been to no avail. Hoping that some one on the forum may have some knowledge of Alfred James and maybe can point me in the direction of previous owners/relatives of this business
