  1. I have just mailed entrants with news about the event t-shirt. A C2C 20 t-shirt featuring a Stag in iconic magenta on a tasteful light grey t-shirt is available exclusively to entrants.  You should have received details by email this morning (25th Feb) showing the shirt, sizes, price, how to order and when to expect delivery.  The image is a little small, but I hope you get the impression.

Please place your orders before Sunday 22nd March.

  2. I have sent the Welcome email to entrants 31 to 41 and followed that up with a mail containing attachments for the provisional route and the Regulations.

There was an email glitch with the Welcome mail, but I think you will have received it if your email details are current.  Should anyone not have received either of these mails please let me know either on the forum or by PM

  3. We have reached 33 entrants very quickly.  I am humbled and gratified by the enthusiasm that you have shown.  Thank you. I hope that you will find that this is the best route yet.

I mentioned earlier that I had sent out the Welcome Mail, Provisional Route and Regulations to the first 30 entrants.  I'll let a number more build up from 31 onwards before sending out the same to later entrants.

  5. David Driscoll has kindly pointed out the on the spreadsheet I sent out C2C 19 Route.xlsx in cell C2 at the start I indicate we turn onto the A535.  I am afraid you'll have difficulty with that because the A535 is about 100 miles further south.  But anything is achievable in a Triumph! More sensible would be to turn onto the A595.

I hope that has not caused confusion.

  6. Hello Everyone

This is a backup message to let you know that I have sent out an email containing the Final Information and Instructions.  it is an email with 9 attachments.  There is a possibility that my or your email system has not delivered this to everyone.

If you have not received the main email with attachments please let me know.

    Best wishes, Chris

  7. Hi Howard

The top map is correct.  The roads to be followed from Barnard Castle are:

                                                                                         Miles     Duration   Time

    6 Barnard Castle B6277, A67, A66, A67, A1044,A174, A171 31.6 0:50:00 22:46
    7 Whitby A171 63.5 1:33:00 00:19
    8 Scarborough A171  19.5 0:36:00 00:55

    Do not go into Whitby.

  8. Some entrants are beginning to look in detail at the route and are finding a few points that need some explanation.

I had to force Google to take the route that I wanted to follow and in some cases it was quite a battle.  As a consequence there are a number of small anomalies on the route.  If you see something that is confusing at a detail level follow your own instincts.  There is no trickery in the route and anyway it is advisory. For example there is no significance to 99 Grimsby Road and you are not intended to go around in circles in Sleaford! There are 2 links to the Google route as I needed about 20 way points to create the route.  For a Google route you are only allowed 10 way points, so I needed to split the route in two.

My suggestion is that you create a Garmin / TomTom file from the way points on the spreadsheet.  That should be quite quick and simple.

Howard has offered to prepare a Garmin file for the route and is working on it.

  9. Although Club Torque stated that there could be up to 40 entries in the Coast 2 Coast and we have now reached that number, there may be the possibility of starting more than 40. Also we will need some reserves as unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, a few entrants are likely to have to drop out; so please keep those entries coming in.

  10. Everyone that has entered and whose entry is showing status live on the entry table should have received a  welcome email from me containing a welcome letter and the provisional route and timetable.  Where this email has gone to multiple recipients, to maintain privicy, I have used the Bcc facility.

I am getting reports that some entrants have not received welcome emails.  If you have not received one please will you let me know either by email or on this thread.

    Thanks, Chris

  12. Alan, as an interim answer to your question, at the bottom is a copy of the spreadsheet from the navigation points I used from Google maps to document the route.  The display is not too convenient on the Forum, but if you persevere it will get you started.  Also below is a link to Google Maps to get the 2 separate sections I had to use for planning. Click on these and it should produce both halves of the route.

  13. Thank you to all those that have entered so far.  Your entry status is "Submitted" at the moment.  I am having some difficulty getting access to the entry list so that I can change your status to "Entered" and to write you a welcome letter. So please don't be too concerned that this has not happened just yet.  It will as soon as  get full access.

  14. 2019 Coast 2 Coast Run

The 2019 event will be held during the night of Saturday and Sunday 27th and 28th of April.  Sunday 28th April is National Drive it Day. The normal Club Triumph regulations apply and can be found in detail at

    [Sorry, link no longer available]

Entry will be open from 12/01/2019 and can be found at

    [Sorry, link no longer available]

The price of entry is £25.00.

The provisional route of the event is to start at Ravenglass in Cumbria, to drive over Hard Knott Pass to Ambleside, over Kirkstone Pass to Penrith, over Hartside Sumit to Alston, to Barnard Castle, Whitby, Scarborough, Humber Bridge, Louth, Sleaford, Stamford and follow the A43 to Bicester and to join the Club Triumph plot at the Bicester Heritage Center Classic car and Aircraft Scramble meeting.

The Starting point is the Pennington Hotel at Ravenglass.  Signing on, the briefing and the supper will be held here starting at 17:00.  Parking for entrants will be in the car park for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway https://ravenglass-railway.co.uk/  ,    free from 16:00 onwards.

The southern Lake District is a delightful part of the country, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth an extended stay. It has many attractions, including Lake Windemere , the Lake District Motor Museum, The Lakeside and The Ravenglass railways. For those wanting to stay the previous night at the Pennington Hotel special terms have been negotiated and a room will be priced at £90 per room.  Details of the Pennington Hotel are at http://penningtonhotel.co.uk/ .  Other accommodation is plentiful in the area, but remember this is the week after Easter.

There will be a halfway point at McDonalds, Scarborough Fayre, Dunslow Road (A64), Scarborough and fuel is available at BP, West End Services on the same road.

The finish will be at the Bicester Heritage Center, the country’s leading classic car and aircraft restoration centre. BHC holds of their regular Scramble events on Drive it Day and about 2,000 classic cars converge on Bicester that day.  Club Triumph have had a plot here for the last three years.  It is some spectacle.  Entry to the C2C includes entry to the Scramble.  A well earned breakfast can be purchased from a number of mobile catering outlets. The cost of breakfast is not included in the entry fee.

Entry will initially be limited to 40 cars.  Should more that this express interest a reserve list will be maintained.
