  1. reckon about 1 1/2 hrs...it's not the 4.11 bit i'm overly worried about it's the slipper in it...Katie will be alright with it but it could bite Ed in the behind
but we will  have a conflab in the morning ...plan an 8 am start on it
thinking on it ....it would make tomorrows last prep easier...and it's known good diff ..the other is one i've never used .before..so maybe ..better the devil you know
and yep they know it's a 1800 hr start ..trying to get them away from eridge by 2 pm ...only a 2 hr drive ...if they go slow [at normal road speed]

Might be worth investing in a set of the HD tr-metal ones as you have it all apart in front of you.

I am fairly sure you won't be driving it carefully... ;-)

Was it the crank hitting a GT6 sump???

    Cheers

    Colin

yep it was a gt6 sump....has also been bored out +20 with new pistons ,...not sure my budget/time schedule will stretch to a new set of shells so they'll have to do
spent the afternoon stripping it down and swopping bits over

2nd Issue. Seats are a little bit knackered and being original don't recline.

I know this is a VERY long shot, but has anyone (who lives near the Kent or Essex area) got a spare reclining seat (we only need one for the passenger side) that will fit a Vitesse Convertible that he could borrow for the RBBR?

i'm i sussex ...near lewes...have got a choice of original gt6 seat [foam a bit tired] or an mx5 seat you could borrow

  4. Ditto ..what Jason said...and you will find you're running well up on time and have time to enjoy the banter at each stop...on the last run,my daughter and i, did just that...at some controls we were early..so we handed our road book in, did our socialising ..bit of tinkering on the car. tea ,cakes and then head off ...as others were still just arriving..but we'd had  break
And another plus to the 'don't fanny around'   approach is that if/when your car develops a fault ..there are lots of cars/helpers that will pass and lend a spanner
