Speedometers are the bane of a Triumph owners time with their cars, never work that well. I have switched to a GPS unit in the GT6, it works well.

TR6 one seems ok, saloon one over reads, so I use Waze with the speed shown, saved many an endorsement.

Found the pic on google images....such a well thought out installation.

Clive, how about putting some heatshields between the carbs and the exhaust manifold?

Don't bin the carbs, give Andrew Turner a call, he is always looking for core and pays for them.

A really nice looking car. A 2.5 Saloon with overdrive is a very suitable RBRR.

We always think the RBRR is best approached by thinking about the next Control that has to be met, and not thinking about the whole event mileage as that can be quite daunting.

I will concede that maybe in a Spitfire it is not so important to have a sucker fan, but a GT6 has such a minimal radiator surface area, that I would say essential. 

I am not a fan of those Kenlowe type probes that one inserts through a top hose joint, always looks like a leak will eventually happen. Or cutting and inserting a take off block and fitting a union.

Get a sucker not a blower, the blower masks airflow into the radiator. Also, many put a radiator fan switch into the header tank, this is done by brazing a boss in a convenient position, a decent radiator re-conditioner would be able to do this.

Yes, this is exactly what happens. When you sign on at Knebworth, you will be given you pack as I will have noted on the signing in sheet that you did not attend the DM.

Hope the TR3A is ready for the off in just over three weeks time.

One can spend alot of money on a 1300cc engine. Probably the most sensible option would be too think about getting the basics done before starting to tune.

As Toledo's don't have overdrive, I'd think about controlling coolant and oil temp and fit a bigger core to the radiator and a thermostatically controlled oil cooler.

Triumph's 1300 engine is very underrated and one can do so much.

I had the same thought and will use the same type of light that is used on the propshaft hump inside the car, seems a good solution as it has an on/off switch, rather than a pressure switch and of course it is a TR6 part.

Sad to see it go Don, one of the best GT6s out there.

I look forward to next years 10CR and ssing you in the Sprint.

Fiamms are Italian air horns as fitted to Italain exotic sports cars.

So my RBRR prep. list for my TR6 is as follows:

1. Change the flywheel.

2. Install new static seat belts

3. Fit spotlights

4. Fit Fiamms!

If the spring is soft/worn out, would not the car bottom out on its suspension, therefore be harsh?
