Am very tempted to enter this after going to the Revival a couple of weeks ago — bit worried as my car only just cleared the noise limit last time.
Does anyone remember how far away they do the test? -
Make sure the nuts are on tight because if your wheel falls off mid session nobody will be happy — especially those who have had to stop their session.
-
Depends what kind of IAT it is
-
Tyre pressures are probably what you want to look at — can't think of anything else that you can do "easy"

I made this ages ago

All the above has been suggested and ignored over the last six years- along with offers of help
Its all a bit ground hog day for me -so time to move on!
New organisers, Andy, fingers crossed. -
VR1 - holds pressure really well even after a good ragging.

Just make sure the VR sensor is close enough — not more than a couple of mm away.

Be wary of over-carb'ing your engine - putting on carbs that are too big will just reduce throttle response.

I'd agree — the 475s are quite firm enough for me on my Mk1 — though the Mk2 is probably heavier at the rear end so may seem different.
I have new springs on the rear of mine that are now a lot softer when open and the ride is a lot more pleasant.

The springs are super easy to swap — why not get both :)
I have a pair of 475 that you could borrow and try out if you're close. -
I wouldn't touch the engine — it would be the last thing on my list after making the thing handle and ensuring that it brakes properly (everything is in order and decent pads)
It's not fun to have a powerful engine with no handling or braking — where as a car that handles and brakes really well is huge fun and even more fun when the engine gets done.
It's also much cheaper than starting to play with engine upgrades — especially when they get internal. -
Ok ignore that last one

Colin,
As you know my Spitfire is "resting" at the moment.
I meant my 2000 with spin on adapter.
The one I usually get is pretty long -
I'm confused
What is the biggest filter that will fit our cars without the need for an adapter? -

MK1 bonnets look nicer than MK2 ,ns should have still been fitted to the MK 2, !!

Everything on a Mk1 looks nicer than on a Mk2 :)

You don't need an EDIS — save your money :)
Megasquirt is very confusing at first — you probably want Megasquirt 2 running MSExtra3
If you're feeling rich check out the MS3 Pro as that has much better connectors than the standard one and makes a much nicer install than the horrid DB37 connectors. -
It's also mappable so will have a microcontroller in it — can't copy one of those quite so easily.
-
Ohhhh that's good

You can make them quite easily out of rod ends — or else John Wolfe used to do a kit.

Marcus,
The MegaSquirt has a test mode — you can tell it how long you want to fire the injector for and it just opens them up.
You really need to use the same setup as you're using on the car for it to be accurate — use the same injector drivers.

Go for the original position of the shock — it's at a better angle and has more travel than those conversion brackets.
