  1. Hi Im doing the Zetec se conversion. Its very cheap, needs no mods to the chassis and only minor mods to the tub. The most expensive part is the bell housing which in £200 from shawspeed or RWDmotorsport. Everything else can be done cheap. For more info read my thread in the specials section or pm me for specific details. I even have a spare set of engine mounts. Every thing else can be bought off the shelf.

  2. Brendan, I think the best position was were I had the pump below the bulkhead on the passenger side there is a flat panel that it fits perfectly. It also means less wiring and I also wouldn't mount it on bobbins. The plastic bracket is perfect for the job. Trust the Germans.

  3. Hi Don you wont get any fuel starvation with the huco as as soon as the fuel evaporates it is replaced by more. The car will also run cooler as it will run richer as the fuel is colder. Don't bother with the tin foil crap just by a huco pump and be done with it.

  4. One Huco pump, I could hear it only when it primed when I turned the key with the engine not running as soon as the engine started I could just hear engine.



    Power through a fuse.



    Mounted to the tub.



    I used a piece of old inner tube to insulate the pump from the metal surfaceand two m8 bolts. The mounting bracket is plastic so I would think it would insulate the pump noise.

  5. Unfortunately, the kit price will be the same sheepy. The T6 is made with thick fiber glass and anything crude oil based product is going up in price. It's frustrating that my build went the way it did. However fingers crossed the new T6's will be better and the bad luck story I had will become a great experience for the new customers. Mathew sounds like he's keen to get the project off the ground again so i'm confident he will make them properly. He said he would send some photo's of the new tubs in the near future so I'll add them here when they arrive. He was also looking at making the T6 more of a road car with alot of thoughts on options for interior and panels to enclose the fuel tank etc........ Only time will tell but the feeling is good.

  6. Molds now owned by Mathew who actually helped develop the original T6 and also suggested further upgrades which Graham didn't carry out. This feels very promising and I've ask Mathew to send some photo's of the new tubs he is making.

    Sounds very positive, I'm glad some one has continued the concept as it makes sence.

  7. Spoke to Canleys the other week and Dave says he had a customer call saying he now owns the moulds etc for the T6's. Anyone know anymore on this???

    New Blood is just what the T6 tubs needed but no info yet but the website has a new phone no. and a new contact name.

  8. Good Job John, I'll be letting the trimmer do mine if I decide to keep it. Its gonna be a custom job so can't buy off the shelf. I only ever had front carpet in my spitfire before the transformation and it was the cheapest nastiest carpet ever made. Obviously it came with the boxes of bits that came originally but those molded ones really look good and should be a sale price lifter. How much are you selling it for???? Add a couple of hundred for great presentation mate.

  9. For carbs there is only one pump to choose!!! HUCO fuel pump. £55, has it's own pressure regulator and the only time you hear it is when it primes when the key is first turned.

  10. What Fuel filters are you using??? I changed to a modern throw away type fuel filter when I got the Huco pump. I think it was a Ford Focus 1.6 2001 as it had the ends to fit the 8mm pipes to and from. It wont let any crap through and you can fit it anywhere before the pump. In 12 months toss it and fit a new one. I never had any other fuel problems after that filter and pump.

                 Ive just said this on another thread. I used a Huco low preasure pump designed for use with carbs. It fills the float bowls and then cuts out. Its nice as you can hear it prime when you turn the ignition on but cant hear it when the engine is running. It also sucks aswell as pushes so can be mounted anywhere. I had mine on in the engine bay and it never missed a beat. Really a great bit of kit. Some people have a second car but I just have the spit at the time and this was one of the things that made it so reliable.

  12. No wedge on the bottom adjuster!!!! My god man, that really would have given you no brakes,excess pedal movement and your lucky the cylinder hasn't popped out its bore, the handbrake would have been the least of my worries.  You need new brake shoes now as they will be contaminated.

  13. Steering lock was optional later on but the  key is moved half way down the steering column.  The last spitfire 1500's had modern type key steering  and a different column.

    Wheels will turn very far when at the lock and the car will "crab" or slide if the clutch is not let out slowly. This gives these cars a better turning circle than a london taxi.
