  1. P,S. I have just been to measure the length of the coil spring whilst on the car and it is approx 25cm. Is this too long? Cheers Nev
  2. Hi all Things are just going from bad to worse! I managed to get the bonnet back onto the chassis after having new inner wings fitted only to find that I have a gap of approx. 4 - 5" between the top of the front tyre and the wheel arch lip! As the car was bought as an abandoned project this is the first time that the bonnet has been back on. I have replaced the front suspension with new springs and shock absorbers last year but have heard that there are some dodgy shockers out on the market. These are KYB which were recommended to me but I cannot compare them with the old ones as they were none on the car when bought. Also I have noticed that the engine seems to sit lower at the back (nearest bulkhead) Is this normal or are am I going slightly paranoid????? Any comments, advice etc. etc. will be much appreciated. Cheers Nev
  3. Hi Can anyone settle an argument that we had in the local pub regarding Herald front suspension.A friend of ours had recently fitted new front shock absorbers and springs (standard not up-rated) to his Herald and was concerned that the ride height was higher than normal. The disagreement was that new springs and shox take time to settle to their normal height and need to be driven for a while for this to happen. True or false? Thanks for any feedback

    Front wings

Hi all Just what are the differences between a Herald and a Vitesse front wing? I know they have different part numbers but I have unearthed a NOS wing that I need to identify. Also are they interchangeable? Would appreciate any info. on this Nev
  7. Hi Andy I believe Canleys do a heavy duty version (RHS 152) and a very heavy duty (GUJ 101 HD) Might be worth a look Cheers Nev
  8. Thanks for that but this is the lever that fits to the underside of the body that connects the short handbrake cable and the compensator for the rear cable.
  9. Hi.Anyone know which way round the handbrake relay lever should fit? Does the wider part fit at the top(nearest the floor) or the other way round? Also would it make any difference if it was fitted incorrectly? Cheers Nev
  10. Hi all.I recently bought a front chrome overrider for what I thought was for a Vitesse.Unfortunately although it looked similar it is longer than what I have which makes me think that it's for a Herald. The Vitesse measures 9 1/2" in length, this one measures 12".Also if it is for a Herald are they handed? Cheers Nev.
