  1. Thanks for the help guys. I will spend the next five days looking for it probably.
  2. Thanks a lot! Mine is also mounted front right and middle left, but I'm afraid it will bounce against my boot floor.
  3. Hello all, just a quick question: I just installed the fuel tank in my GT6 Mk3, but I only bolted it in with two bolts in the front. Should there be a bracket at the back of the fuel tank and if so, what does it look like? I have the feeling that it isn't all that secure right now. Thanks a lot!
  4. I agree, those aren't the prettiest. These are som reupholsterd seats from a regular smart car, which look great to me. I am not sure about the comfort of the seats either, as I have never sat in one.

    Smart car seats

Hello all, Has anyone tried putting seats from a smart car in a Spit/GT6? According to my info they should fit, but I've never seen it done. They are pretty cheap (in the Netherlands at least) and my seats need new foam en upholstery anyway, so might as well reupholster some smart car seats. Big bonus is that the seats from the smart car have built in seatbelts.
  6. MGF spares look good! What tyre size are you running?
  7. Thanks guys, great response from my question! I really like the look of the stock system with the sports damper and I think it will sound throaty enough with a 6-3-1 manifold and K&N air filters? Also, I think 15 inchers might ruin the ride in a GT6. But I got another today: buy 4 mgf spare wheels (14 inch) and put rostyle caps on them. Don't know if it wil suit a Mk3, will have to see about that
  8. To make it even more confusing: I've send Rimmer an email with the question which system is louder, and they replied 'single exit is the louder'. Thanks for the links, Rimmer is actually a bit expensive compared to others. Thanks for the picture as well, wheels look good. I always found Magenta a nice color on a Triumph somehow..
  9. Like that option as well, but I think I'm going for the single big bore one! Would it be hard to find a second hand 6-3-1 manifold? But then there's another problem, cause Rimmer only sells the single big bore exhaust as a kit with the manifold..
  10. That sounds absolutely awesome!! What kind of manifold/air filter set-up are you running? Edit: Before I forget to ask, is yours from Rimmerbros? Going to watch your video another 20 times now  ;D
  11. If only the 6-3-1 manifold's weren't so expensive! That, for me, is biggest downside. But, is de single big bore exhaust louder than the twin pipe 'wheelbarrow'??
  12. Thanks for the quick replies! I already found out that fitting a Bell system would meen going deaf  ;D. Sounds great on youtube, but I would like to be able to use my ears for the rest of my life. I was planning on buying just the exhaust and the manifold later, but the problem I found was that the front pipes aren't the same. I found it a bit of a waste of money to change half the system after a year or so. And the 6-3-1 manifold is just very pretty  8), very expensive though. Indeed, my car is LHD. Didn't know that the manifold was different though. I bought a HS6 manifold of a saloon for 15 euros/about 10 pounds. Only problem I noticed was fitting the coolant pipes over the manifold
  13. Hello all, I am currently restoring a Mk3 GT6. The rolling chassis is nearly finished, just have to do the brake lines. However, I have 3 questions and I thought, why not ask them. BTW my engine is balanced, has a slightly higher compression, done some head work, lightened flywheel and the suspension has poly bushes all round. Gearbox is a new GT6 one. First question: What exhaust to choose? I am planning on buying an exhaust online and get it shipped to the Netherlands (where I live). It seems like Rimmerbros is the only option. I can't choose which exhaust to buy though. 1st option is a stainless steel stock system, with a 6-3-1 manifold and rimmer's sports damper. 2nd option is the 'wheelbarrow', again with a 6-3-1 manifold 3rd option is a single, large bore exhaust with 6-3-1 manifold. Rimmer's site mentions the 3rd option to be nice sounding, not too loud. Is it louder than the twin pipe exhaust or not? Second question: Is the airbox from a 2000 saloon bigger than the one on the GT6? I'm planning on using 2 SU HS6 carbs with K&N filters in an (custom made) air box. If the 2000 saloon air box is bigger than the GT6 one, it will save a whole lot of work  8) Third question: Can anyone supply me with some pictures of a Mk3 GT6 with 15" mgf alloys on it? IF I am going to use 15" wheels, I will probably buy some 175/55 15 tyres. That's a lot of questions for a first post  :B Hope someone can answer it. Thanks in advance!
