    Overdrive

I've got a late model GT6 and the overdrive has started playing up recently. When driving along at low speeds the overdrive will work normally. If you're driving at say 40mph or above then it constantly engages and disengages. I've checked the gearbox oil level and it's fine, plenty there. I've checked the connections and all seems okay. Any ideas what I should be looking for?

    Indicators

Now I've seen your pic I quite like the orange bulbs. They don't look as bright as I thought they would.

That's where I've found them, £8 all in for the lenses and bulbs as opposed to £14 for one complete lens housing.

That would help wouldn't it.lol mk3. Turns out mgb will fit. GT6 & MGB indicator lenses have the same part number on Rimmers and are the same Lucas part number. Ordering them today. Think they look  8)

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere but I can't find anything doing a keyword search. I'm thinking of changing the indicator lenses on my GT6 to a clear lens with the silver bulbs that flash orange. Only problem is I can't find any! I've come across ones for an MGB which look very similar but I doubt would fit (that would be to easy!) Has anyone done this or could point me in the right direction?

No issues at all from my Strombergs Hi, can I ask where you purchased your fuel pressure regulator from? I'm after one for the opposite problem of overfueling.

    GT6 Diff

I was actually looking for a 3.63 for that reason. I asked the question in an earlier thread as I was confused as to what the difference was. "Usable" wasn't the best choice of words. Half asleep when I wrote that. Didn't realise one was stronger than the other though

    GT6 Diff

I was under the impression that a 3.63 is fine. 3.89 was the original for an OD GT6 but a 3.63 whilst not original is usable. Here's a link I found useful while trying to suss out which diff to go for http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/gearspeed/

    GT6 Diff

A friend of my old man has mentioned that some diffs had breather pipes? To prevent the build up of pressure in the diff? Not heard of this before. I replaced the seals on the diff a number of years ago and they're leaking once again. Nothing major but will need sorting. Anyone shed any light on this breather pipe business?

    Carb Ideas

Thanks for the advice guys. Once the weather brightens up I'll have a tinker. In the mean time I'll order a service kit and see how we go. I can't seem to find a fuel pressure regulator looking on Rimmers. Anyone got one fitted and can recommend a good one? Thanks again

Looks to be leaking from the float chamber. The fuel pump is brand new, fitted a year ago, used properly for the first time yesterday, so could be the pressure. What can I do to reduce fuel line pressure?

    GT6 Diff

Hi, yes car has overdrive. Picked up the diff today, seems okay, nothing majorly wrong from what I can tell but obviously won't know until I fit it to the car. Turns out that my UJ joints have had it so I'll sort those first, if noise is still there then swap diffs. If not I've got a spare.

    Carb Ideas

Right then, I've got a set of late Strombergs on my GT6 which are leaking fuel and I suspect overfueling. So here's the question do I A Get the Strombergs looked at and serviced B Get a set of early Strombergs (I've been told they are better as they don't have a bimetallic strip fitted??) C Get a set of SU's compete with linkages and manifold? I'm tempted to go for C but which SU's do I need as some won't clear a GT6 bonnet?

    GT6 Diff

It's a 3.89, I had the guy check the number stamped on the case. So long as the internals are what they should be then it should be fine.
